We have met Woodrow, the White House mouse in some of the past books by this team of authors. The use of mice provides a gimmick for getting youngsters interested in learning about the three branches of the U.S. government. With their curriculum approach, the authors suggest some prior discussion on each branch before using the book. Chapter I presents the three divisions of our system of government followed by choices of activities for each division. The remainder of the book provides strategies and activities for further clarifying this confusing topic. Samples of graphic organizers, poems, crossword puzzle masters and pictures for coloring are provided. The book is illustrated with simple drawings of the now familiar mouse characters. In addition, addresses and resources for further research are provided. The print is small and the Contents page could use additional outlining and page numbers.
