    An instant classic

I am so thrilled by the beauty of the photos in the book. The captions and the writing are really fun to read also. I watched the author's interview on Access Hollywood online and got curious about the book because I really liked the stories that the author told. And now I am very glad I bought the book.

What's really special about this book is that the whole book reads (visually) like a movie about MJ's life. The photographs are intimate and authentic, and the way the the images are sequenced makes them reads like cinematic story-telling, and I really appreciate this layout. You can follow the feeling of what it's like to spend days with MJ, being on the road, at concerts, and hanging out at his house. In many of the photos, I really felt like I was in the room with MJ. I like the exclusivity of these never-before seen and rarely seen photos of MJ. The quality of the images are stunning, not just paparrazi or run of the mill publicity shots and stock photos, but images of the real daily life in MJ's life. I love having a peek at the playful moments that MJ was sharing with his brothers, backstage photos where MJ's mingling with other stars, as well as the solitary moments where you can have a glimpse of MJ's private moments. And the concert images are to die for! I especially LOVE the double page spread after the credits, where MJ is smiling beafically. I love seeing the young MJ living and enjoying his life and success. It is rare to see this kind of authentic emotion in celebrity photos, and I appreciate that this book is full of authentic moments.

I also really appreciate the author's writing. They are simple and insightful descriptions of who, what, where, and when. There is no fluff, only facts. This book feels like an instant classic photo book of MJ that is a cut above others out there, presenting top quality photos and writing, and beautifully edited. I highly recommend this book for all MJ fans and photography lovers out there.

    Great Book For MJ Fans!

I bought this book and was so excited and glad to have bought it. It arrived in great condition and promptly delivered. The pictures are beautiful and show the pure essence of Michael! There are not just any ordinary pictures of Michael, they are personal pictures that Michael himself requested to be taken and hand picked during this shooting. This is to me a collectors item and coffee table book. I had seen the book on tv and wanted to get it as soon as I saw it and I'm glad I did. It is a must have for any diehard fan ....;-))))

An Authentic Look at Michael Jackson

Todd Gray kept this photo essay of Michael authentic. Nothing was embellished. These are photos of what really happened when Michael was performing and when he wasn't. It showed a deep bond he had with his brothers. It showed how much work was involved to perform at the level the Jackson 5 performed at. Todd kept the photo descriptions to a minimum to let the photos speak for themselves. Todd also brought in how Michael loved to read, study art and photography. Todd captured Michael studying everything and everyone around him to learn how to become better than he was at that moment. You will want to look at this book over and over.

    Ahh, The Good Ol' Days

This book is filled with great pictures of Jackson right before the big explosion of Thriller. It captures the essence of innocence and youth of Michael and his brothers including Grey's notes and recollections about each picture as well as his time with Jackson. Most of the pics are of Michael on tour with his brothers on stage and off backstage. It is refreshing to see Michael, as a beautiful young black man before all the craziness. This book is a treasure for sure.

    PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING!

I was very thrilled to receive this book via online purchase, but now I wish I would've inspected it in-store before I was surprised at home to find how poorly the book was bound. It's made with apparently cheap glue along the spine and after owning it for about two months, all of the sudden, 30 pages at a time, SEVERAL SECTIONS JUST FELL OUT! This was very disappointing, as you can understand.
*If your heart is set on owning this, please just be VERY careful when looking through the book. Not that I was anything but careful, though. I wish someone had written this before I received my own copy.

    Beautiful Pictures

This book is a must have for a true Michael Jackson fan. Although there isn't a lot of material to be read, the pictures are fascinating and some will be new to the reader. A keepsake and worth buying.
