Michelin Green Guide Washington, D.C.: 8th Edition based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
I bought the current version to replace the one that was published two years ago, as I have looked at numerous guides to DC in recent years and I think this one is the best. It has detailed descriptions of all the major and minor attractions in DC, as well as those in outlying areas, and the attractions are arranged by area (the Mall area, White House area, Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle, etc.) so that you can more easily arrange your sightseeing. It also contains floor plans of some of the most important museums. Unlike some DC guides, the major focus is on attractions, rather than places to stay and eat, which was fine with me, as my wife and I stay at the same hotel all the time and don't need to read reviews of every other possible hotel. Having said that, however, there is a small portion of the book devoted to places to eat and places to stay. The only negative about the book is that while it has a very good DC map inside the front cover, the map cannot be removed like it can from the Frommer DC guide. Accordingly, I removed the map from my last Frommer DC guide and take that with me while in town, while using the Michelin book for all my tour ideas.
