Dennis TannerIt's easier to find a good guidebook about Florida, Las Vegas or New York than one about Michigan. That's particularly true if you are looking for information on staying at a small lodging spot.
That's why it was good to see the release of the 2001-02 version of "Michigan Vacation Guide - Cottages, Chalets, Condos and B&Bs." The book is from TR Desktop Publishing, the company of Kathy Tedsen and Bev Rydel based in northern Macomb County.
The sixth edition has been enlarged to 256 pages, features nearly 200 photos and Illustrations, and lists nearly 2,000 Michigan lodging choices. There are detailed and personal observations about accommodations that include Henry Ford's former summer house on Lake Superior, a B&B where Susan B. Anthony stayed in Saugatuck and an expanding golf resort in the hills of Gaylord.
