These are just a small sample of the many vacation properties you'll discover in the 6th edition of the Michigan Vacation Guide. Expanded to 256 pages, the latest edition is jam-packed with over 170 photographs and updated information on more than 1,000 accommodations throughout Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas. The Guide continues to focus on helping vacationers find accommodations which offer a unique change from the usual motel or hotel for those weekend, week or month long getaways. Each regional section also highlights popular area activities, attractions and restaurants. Additional chapters in this edition help readers understand the unique differences among lodging styles and offers further information on fall color tours, Michigan wineries and casinos.

Of course, this guide also includes an all new Featured Property Reviews chapter. Expanded to almost 100 pages, this section combines numerous photographs along with the writers' detailed, personal perspectives on some of the properties they've visited.

Editorial Reviews

Dennis Tanner
It's easier to find a good guidebook about Florida, Las Vegas or New York than one about Michigan. That's particularly true if you are looking for information on staying at a small lodging spot.

That's why it was good to see the release of the 2001-02 version of "Michigan Vacation Guide - Cottages, Chalets, Condos and B&Bs." The book is from TR Desktop Publishing, the company of Kathy Tedsen and Bev Rydel based in northern Macomb County.

The sixth edition has been enlarged to 256 pages, features nearly 200 photos and Illustrations, and lists nearly 2,000 Michigan lodging choices. There are detailed and personal observations about accommodations that include Henry Ford's former summer house on Lake Superior, a B&B where Susan B. Anthony stayed in Saugatuck and an expanding golf resort in the hills of Gaylord.
