En el presente trabajo se pretende mostrar los resultados de una investigación que ilustra como la percepción y conocimientos acerca de la violencia de género están relacionados con las formas más visibles de ésta, así se considera violencia a una forma de ejercicio del poder mediante el empleo de la fuerza, ya sea física, psicológica, económica, entre otras. Se hace énfasis en como la cultura patriarcal ha dotado al hombre de una supremacía que lo acomoda en diversos órdenes en una posición ventajosa con respecto a la mujer. La teoría de género ha permitido hacer un análisis más profundo de la dinámica que se produce a lo interno de la relación de pareja y conocer que el fenómeno de la violencia de género no se resume sólo a estas formas, pues hay manifestaciones más sutiles, solapadas e imperceptibles como son los micropoderes o microviolencias que de forma similar laceran la calidad e integridad de la relación. Así en todas las relaciones de pareja pueden producirse micropoderes. Las parejas de profesionales no están exentas de ello. Como principales resultados de esta investigación se encontró que en estas parejas se despliegan micropoderes por parte de ambos sexos.
