    Fell way short of my expectations.

    A very good "step-by-step" style tutorial, but only for the most basic functions. Most of what I needed to do is not covered in this book. Good organization, style etc, but covers only the tip of the iceberg of what Access can do.

    Teach yourself with ease

    I had basic understanding of MS office products. I was able to use this book to create my first Access database. Easy to understand. Step by step instructions. Practice sessions.

    Writing a database

    Gives some good procedures; provides some code that can be copied; Provided answers clearer and straightforward. Not as comprehensive as a reference book; should be used more as a training tool.

    Step-by-Step will change your life!

    This is the fourth book I've used in the MS Step-by-Step series. On the whole, I would recommend this series to anyone of a beginner to intermediate level who wants to improve their software skills. The lessons are easy and your skills will improve if you diligently work through the lessons in the book. Unfortunately, many of the lessons are missing from the disc accompanying this book...at least the copy I purchased. The text is still informative, but it works best with the lessons on the disc.

    Excellent Resource

    This book and all of the others in the 'Step-by-Step' series from Microsoft Press is the one-stop resource for anyone wishing to learn the Microsoft Office Suite and/or prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams. There are practice files, templates and clipart loaded on the accompanying CD-ROM. A must have for all users! I must have bought at least a dozen other books for learning Office programs and this beats them all hands down! Two thumbs up!!
