Not a Dummies book but a great resource

I was very pleased with this purchase. I am not a draftsmen at all and had to do some drafting work. The dummies book I had picked up was not extensive enough to cover what I needed.

This book is VERY extensive and if you are used to the dummies style of quick introduction and a few highlights then this is not the book for you. It is a self teaching book. It goes step by Step in a rather lengthy series of lessons. I would not recommend it for a beginner in Visio. I needed the Dummies book as a primer or this would have Greek to me. That being said it was an excellent course and I am well on my way to being quite proficient with the program.
I recommend this book to anyone who is going to be using Visio a great deal and is unfamiliar with the program. Great Value for a good product!

    Marginally acceptable.

I ordered the paperback copy with the CD; BN converted it without my knowledge to a nook book, and NO cd. Totally unacceptable customer service. I bought this for work, and now I have to take my Nook in to work. this is NOT what I need, but I can't afford to buy it AGAIN for work on my own dime.

The book itself is ok, just harder for me to use in the "electronic" format for work. Again, a totally unacceptable decision on BN part without my knowledge or consent.

    User-friendly guide

I've found this book series very user-friendly. It literally is step-by-step.
The only problem is installing the files. Instead of following the directions, I needed to click into the files directly on the CD. After that, I didn't have any problems.

    Learn Vision Quickly

Microsoft Office Visio 2007 Step by Step is exactly what this book is about. This book will help you learn Visio one easy step at a time. The CD included has practice lessons to reinforce the text.

This is not a reference book. Not all the features (especially the high end features) are included.
