    Terrific resource for Windows Server 2008

    Stanek's pocket consultants are the best and most useful computer books I've ever come across. Whenever he has a new one I just get it because it'll be useful for me as an winadmin and he's never let me down. This one is perfect for helping you learn the ins and outs of Windows Server 2008 and day to day administration. It's not meant to be exhaustive and it is excellent at what it is: a guide for the stuff you'll use most often.

    Must have resource for those facing the migration

    Windows 2008 is a role based architecture, entirely different than 2003. You will have to understand the 'Server Roles' and the 'Role Services'. This book will help you get up to speed on the new terms and key features that will require a different hardware configuration than what you have been used to. The admin tools are quite different, ie, like the Add Roles Wizard and Add Features Wizard. Get ready to make use of the command line prompt! And make sure you have a highlighter to use on this book, you will refer back to it more than once... You will find the file sharing and printer management different, nice new Print Management console.
