Overview

ANALISA… He whispers her name, and it echoes back to him on the wings of the night. She is so young, so alive. She radiates warmth and goodness, chasing the coldness from his being, banishing the loneliness from his soul. In four centuries of prowling, the shadows have brought him few pleasures, but the nearness of her soft lips, her warm throat, promise sweetness beyond imagining. She has wandered unchaperoned to the moonlit tomb where he takes refuge by day, little suspecting that with his eyes alone he can mesmerize her, compel her to do his bidding. Yet he will not take her life's blood by force or trickery. He will have it as a gift, freely given, and in exchange, he will make her wildest dreams come true.

Analisa Mathews knows that it is just a matter of a short time before she joins her family in death. The disease has left her weak and the ailing woman welcomes her demise until the strange doctor visits her and gives her a concoction. Her regular physician Dr. Martinson is shocked to see Analisa begin to recover her health. To Analisa's surprise Martinson cannot even see her enigmatic medical visitor that she observes in plain sight. After leaving the hospital fully and miraculously recovered, Analisa learns the identity of her benefactor, Lord Alesandro de Avallone. She moves into his castle based on his note that she is welcome there while he is away. Analisa soon perceives the true identity of her benevolent host and falls in love with him in spite of knowing he is a vampire. He returns her feelings, but has placed her in danger from a deadly enemy. This was my first vampire/romance book and it was Great! I totally fell in love with the main characters. at first i was bit shocked to find that he was a vampire and thought it would be boring but after just finishing a few chapters, i just couldnt put the book down! it was totally amazing!

There is so much I want to say about MIDNIGHT EMBRACE. It was my first book by Amanda Ashley, and it will not be my last. MIDNIGHT EMBRACE has moved me deeply, in a way that no other book -- up to date -- has. It was emotional, powerful, compelling, beautiful, dark, sensual and breathtaking. The descriptions Ashley uses are incredible! The way she describes the love scenes in the book put into words what one can only feel. Analisa and Alesandro *do* seem made for each other, eternal soulmates in life and death. (I pray for a sequel.) MIDNIGHT EMBRACE has become my favorite book and a good reason for it is that this book made me weep like a fallen angel. I cried, nonstop, for about six pages, and certain phrases Ashley used made me cry even more. Sometimes, while watching a couple in love in a movie or a TV show, you might feel jealousy or envy towards them, but not in MIDNIGHT EMBRACE. In this book, you feel everything the characters feel: love when they're resting in one another's arms, happiness when they're laughing or smiling, hatred, spite and loathing when the enemy has appeared, sadness when someone is hurt physically and/or emotionally, peace when serenity is allowed . . . Ashley explores every single emotion in this exquisite and intricate tale of a 400-year-old vampire lost in the coldness of his shadows from his past, and then the warmth of the sunlight brought into his world by the spirit and love of a young, innocent woman who shows him the meaning of life and the salvation in love. This is an absolute must-read! Kudos to Amanda Ashley for this riveting tale that never flags and for her genuine ability to bring my soul down to its knees and to glistening tears.

Definitely not one of Amanda Ashley's best but a good easy read none the less...although I did want to slap some sense into Alesandro a few times but alas, I cannot...

It was a bit slow. I love the romance of it, but the lead character Annalisa was too naive for my taste. I wanted Alesandro to have a female with spirit and verve! Great read though

This book had me on edge. I couldn't put it down! It's the prime example of vampire romance; it even came out before twilight and, in my opinion, it's better than twilight! Way to go Amanda Ashley; if you make a movie, I would love to play the part of Lisa. ;)
