Editorial Reviews

Romantic Times
Out of the ordinary, powerful and satisfying! A rare treat! For those who want a juicy bite of the dark side, Midnight Enchantment is a delicious slice.
Midwest Book Review
The story line is crisp, feral, yet tender as only Ms. Gideon can do with a supernatural romance. Sub-genre fans will cheer the return of Gerard.
New Age Bookshelf
An extraordinary, suspenseful tale! Ms. Gideon once again displays her awesome talents in bringing a handsome but deadly predator out of the night and into your hearts. A definite keeper!

    Finally!!! Nancy Gideon is BACK!!!

I read her previous 3 vampire romance books back in the early 90's and was disappointed when she stopped writing vampire books. Now she is back!!! And she has given us Pascale's story! It was about time! All I can say is...Nancy Gideon, excellent writer,...this book, great read.

Deserves 4 and a half stars

I've read a fair amount of Vampire novels and this series stands out simply because it's written so very well. It's a marvelous mixture of elegence, darkness, loneliness and a few battered souls loking to belong and find their happiness. Laure has always been on the outside looking in, her step-brother Percy is a greedy little worm who is cunning and only looks out for himself. Through his blackmail and plotting he marries Laure to Gerard, the brooding hero/vampire. Percy is only interested in Gerard's money, yet Laure is hoping to finally find a home and some companionship, if not a dear friend. This is not your typical romance novel, nor indeed your typical Regency Romance even though it is set in the 1800s. It is a story of trust and love and lonliness; of witchcraft, greed and trying to fit into a harsh world. There are a number of other characters sorted into this mess and the plot, whilst not mind-boggling new or unique, is well written and odd enough to keep you turning the pages. I strongly recommend the book; I only kept it to 4 and a half stars simply because it isn't the most perfect book I have ever read. But if you're looking for a vampire story that's slightly different and not purely based on love and sex and blood; then this is the series to get into. It is exceedingly well written, and a great *keeper* book. I fully intend to buy the rest of the series.
