An Awesome Fantasy Adventure
When some of the bravest cats from each of the forest¿s four clans set out in order to find out Starclan¿s message for the clans¿ fate, they were in for a major journey filled with action, surprises, and friendship. The four cat clans of the forest, Thunderclan, Windclan, Shadowclan, and Riverclan each had many members with their own position and job to help the clan. However, when one unexpected cat from each clan had a dream about the great Starclan¿s calling for them they set out on a perilous journey to where they saw in their dreams without telling their clan leaders, causing much worry back in the forest. Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt, Crowpaw, and Feathertail, the chosen representatives, along with Stormfur and Squirrelpaw, some friends, set off to ¿the place where the sun drowns¿ like they had seen in their dreams, which seemed more like nightmares. On their nearly never-ending journey, they had many close and frightening encounters with ¿twolegs¿, ¿monsters¿, dogs, and rats. As they carried on through forests and cities, they started to depend on eachother and trust eachother, like family. When they finally arrived at the ¿sundrown place¿ they remembered their dreams telling them to wait for midnight inside the cave with teeth, and surprisingly, Midnight turned out to be the name of a badger, which were major predators to the cats. They finally decided to trust her and found out that Starclan needed them to tell their fellow cats in the forest to get out quickly before the twolegs destroyed them all¿ but they couldn¿t return to the forest in time. This was an excellent and suspenseful book that I really enjoyed. This book had nonstop action that kept me on the edge of my seat. The character¿s point of view alternated from Brambleclaw, one of the traveling warriors and Leafpaw, a medicine cat¿s apprentice who stayed in the forest and was the only cat there who knew about the six cats¿ whereabouts. Because of this, I wanted to read on and on to see what was happening in both places. There was also so much threat to the cats in this book, like badgers, twolegs, monsters, snakes, and drought, and I felt like I had to keep reading to make sure they were safe. There was a lot of mysterious activity going on with some of the characters as well, like Firestar, who seemed to hate it when Squirrelpaw and Brambleclaw were around eachother, and Leafpaw, who seemed to be able to see what Squirrelpaw, her sister, was doing at all times. This book was very creative and imaginative. The author¿s made up characters were realistic but clearly from a fantasy book at the same time. The descriptions of them made them seem normal, like that they were ginger colored or brown or tortoiseshell, but they talked as well and had their own code words for things like people, who they called twolegs cars, who they called monsters and streets, known to them as Thunderpaths. The settings were so interesting: most of them seemed realistic, yet there was still a sense of fantasy, like when they were at the Sundrown place and there were cliffs, huge crashing waves, and a big cave with ¿teeth.¿ The plot was very fascinating and obviously in a made up book. The cats had to go on a quest to save their friends and families, which was not only fun to read about, but it also made me kind of curious about the lives of cats. This book had a great moral and meaning. It showed that you have to work as a team to accomplish a big task, like the six cats did on their quest, even though they weren¿t good friends and Crowpaw was never happy or helpful. It showed that you have to take risks if you want to make a difference, because if you really believe in the cause you will do whatever it takes to accomplish your tasks. The cats had to take a risk and trust Purdy, an old cat who supposedly knew the way to the Sundrown place, and though the cats trusted him and he really got them mixed up, they probably would have died of hunger or exhaustion or
