Overview

Men like him don't exist in the real world, but they do in Washington. Perfect smile. Perfect manners. Tall, broad and beautiful. The most powerful Senator in DC is seeking the White House. And he wants me to help him get there.

Me. Charlie Carter, sister, daughter, a pseudo-journalist from a small town with limited experience. He's a god among men. Colin McKenna isn't the boy next door—he's the lion ready to slaughter the lamb. I should run, bury myself under the years that have slipped by, but the new whirlwind of opportunity his offer holds entices the prey from her hiding spot.

I give in. And because we're both a little bit broken, we fall, and it's fast and hard and intense. But just as the campaign gets going, things start to fall apart. Someone is intent on breaking us. Not just breaking us up, but destroying our hope for a future. My secrets, his advisers, and the past conspire together, and it seems they'll succeed.

Or will they?

The Midnight Series is an intense, sexy romance with a dash of intrigue and loads of emotion from author Elizabeth Miller. This thrilling, complete series is at times laugh out loud funny, it sizzles between the sheets and drops one surprise after another. Midnight is not a political drama, nor does it delve deeply into politics. Prepare for an epic romance about two people with disparate lives trying to come together. It's for the 17+ crowd.

When Midnight came into my inbox I will admit I was not tempted to read a book about a political campaign and then I read the excerpt and changed my mind!  I am very glad I decided to read Midnight, it was an addicting, hot and very fascinating story!  Elizabeth Miller has created a great start to a new series about Colin and Charlie and even though there are political elements to the story, Midnight really is a story about falling in love and learning to trust again. Elizabeth Miller is an author that can build up tension and leave the reader sitting on the edge of their seat waiting for these two characters to finally give in to the sparks.  I really loved both Charlie and Colin they were great characters alone and magnificent together (which I can't say a lot).   The characters are both independent and recovering from past baggage, but that doesn't make them bitter, it makes the fall that much sweeter!  Elizabeth Miller has created a fascinating look into a man running for the presidential office, who also happens to meet a woman he can't let go of along the way.  The story is interesting, the heat is scorching and all the characters are engaging and just when you think you know how things are playing out you get a twist that will change everything (or will it?).  I can't wait to get more from Elizabeth Miller!   If you are in the mood for an adult contemporary romance that will give you heat, a great story and an interesting setting then Midnight is definitely a great book to pick up and read this weekend!  Elizabeth Miller has my attention and I will be on the look out for the next book in this series (can that be soon please?) and any future books she writes!

I loved this book. While reading this book I felt drawn to the characters while they were being drawn towards each other. It was a great read and can't wait until the next book comes out.

I was hesitant to read this book, but I'm so glad I did. It was wonderfully written and had a great story line. I was surprised it was over 300 pages and free! Looking forward to the next book!

I found myself lost in the life of Charlie Carter. The storyline is solid and the imagery top notch! It's a beautiful story with a surprising ending that leaves you craving more! I can't wait for the next installment of the series!

The concept was good, a little repetitive, and the page after page after page of explicit sex got old real fast. 4 pages for 1 sex scene is ridiculous.

I grabbed the first book, Midnight, in the McKenna Chronicle by Elizabeth Miller the other day. I devoured it within less than 24 hours! First off its a book about a presidential hopeful Colin McKenna. We meet Charlise "Charlie" Carter who is a free lance writer who the campaign is interested in hiring to work on the social media of the campaign for McKenna for President. While this book is about a politician, is soooo not a political book. this book is gripping because of the writing, the character development as well as the story line that will drag you in and not let you go. This is a new author for me, and I'm hooked! This is not one of those books that's just about a hot guy and a curvy not so perfect girl with tons of sex scenes as filler. This book is dark, with a twisting plot that leaves you questioning everything about these two characters. When the book ends your are definitely left with the questions "What is going on?" So you immediately need to grab book two, Midnight Sky! Definitely a five star book! *****

How could you end the book like that.

Good story but ending too abrupt, not really a cliffhanger but annoyingly unfinished. I do not want to have to buy another book for the storyline to continue. There should at least be a natural break and at least some of the questions like what is colin s secret who is stalking and why should have been addressed. Too much repetitive sex that looks like it was thrown in to pad this so called book that just stops. It cannot stand on its own. Do not get this one if you are not prepared to buy at least one more and probably 2 more books.

Enjoyed this and the second in the trilogy. Can't wait until the third book is out. Reminds me of 50 shades but with a whole different twist. Very enjoyable and easy to read. Grabs your attention from start to finish.

300 pages of well crafted romance, I enjoyed it, but am disapointed that the next "installment" is not even released yet! Book leaves you hanging abruptly and now I am not sure if it will even be available through Nook.

Im not sure if this is a trilogy, but its not a series like I thought when I read #1. The book ends, the story doesnt. Just kind of drops you lingering after a confrontation. The story itself was good. Fun read, good steamy scenes. Character development is good. Once they finally had sex, there was a lot of it, but the tension between them built up; nice and exciting. You could tell back story from sub characters reactions, made me want to know (can assume a lot). Was trying to figure out how would wrap it all up before the end... and then didnt.

I loved this book but really wish it was a stand alone. Series books make it hard to submerge yourself into a story when you have to wait a year to know what will happen next. 300+ pg book.
