A number of years ago Don McBroom graduated with highest honors from Noel Tyl's graduate course in Astrology. Don went on to develop a remarkable method that helps astrologers organize the use and meaning of one astrology's most important keys--the midpoint picture. Midpoints in an astrological chart offer insights into the dynamics of all charts both easy and difficult while supporting the core constructs of house placements and aspects. Don has done something truly remarkable--he has developed a simple wording that allows even a novice astrologer to turn a complex midpoint picture into a meaningful sentence. An excellent example occurs on page 19 Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets, has Sun= Mercury/Neptune. Don's method starts with the meaning of the Focal point 'the Sun' defined here as 'life purpose and ego definition' and inserts the words 'Can be accomplished through' Mercury 'thoughts and ideas that are communicated' Neptune 'imaginatively or by using fantasy'. Any midpoint picture can be broken down using this method. Terrific! All planets are considered and there are valuable charts and definitions throughout the text. The book, Midpoints, is among a handful of books that I consult regularly. A valuable must have in any astrologer's library.
