She works by the light of kerosene lamps without modern technology. She is Penny Armstrong, a midwife among the gentle, old-order Amish of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Her life has brought her closer to nature and in touch with the past.
There are books that make you a better person if you allow them. This is one of them. A Midwife's Story really put into perspective how simple life needs to be and the love that can be shown. I not only felt a peace after reading the book but a new-found love. A love of life, children especially, and a love that moves you to love what you have, while you have it, to the best of your abilities. A love that I will keep with me.Was this review helpful?
