Overview

Two decades and eight albums after breaking into the Spanish pop mainstream with her triple-platinum debut album and its series of hit singles, Rosario at long last released a proper greatest-hits compilation, Mientras Me Quede Corazón: Grandes Éxitos, Grandes Versiones, and fortunately, it's everything a fan might wish for and then some. Comprised of two CDs and DVD, Mientras Me Quede Corazón features a well-compiled selection of her greatest hits and a bunch of rarities, plus a wide range of videos from over the years. The first disc includes 18 non-chronologically sequenced singles. There are four selections from De Ley (1992), three from Siento (1994), two from Mucho por Vivir (1996), one from Jugar a la Locura (1999), four from Muchas Flores (2001), two from De Mil Colores (2003), and two from Contigo Me Voy (2006). The second disc includes 16 versions of songs by others (e.g., Joan Manuel Serrat, Joaquín Sabina, Radio Futura), many of them rare, including collaborations with Armando Manzanero ("Me Vuelves Loco"), Carlinhos Brown ("Jura de Samba"), Antonio Vega ("En el Mismo Lugar"), Antonio Carmona ("Atado a Esa Mujer"), Lolita and Lola Flores ("A Tu Vera"), and Antonio Flores ("Fe Ciega, Faca Afilada"). Complementing these CDs of hit singles and cover songs is a DVD filled with 14 promotional videos from over the years, plus much more. Rosario fans in the market for a greatest-hits compilation should look no further than Mientras Me Quede Corazón. It's lengthy and correspondingly priced, but it's a remarkably thorough collection that does justice to Rosario's illustrious career as one of Spain's leading pop superstars of the '90s and 2000s. Those Rosario fans who can't get enough should also consider the concurrently released double-disc live album Grandes Éxitos en Directo (2009), which includes much of the same material performed in concert.
