Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carlee Hallman
The clubhouse gang is given a bunch of pigeons. After they rename and refurbish their clubhouse for a pigeon coop, they discover that there is a lot of clean-up work involved, and the neighbors complain about the nuisance. Finally, the kids try to get rid of the pigeons by letting them loose at a local church where there are other pigeons, but the minister does not want more. When the pigeons return to the clubhouse, one is discovered with a band on its leg. This leads to a solution. The bright pencil and watercolor illustrations show cartoon-like children and adults. Although a picture with the name of each clubhouse member is shown at the beginning of the book, the children are difficult to identify as one reads the text. This is part of the "Clubhouse Book" series. Reviewer: Carlee Hallman
