Good Book for Beginning A+ Students

This is an excellent source for someone who wants to get A+ Certified. The author does a very good job of explaining all facets of computer systems and offers several references to further your education. Excellent CD also included in this book.

Awesome Confidence Builder - Highly Recommended

I had read both Mike Myers' A+ All in One Guide as well as Clarke and Tetz's A+ Certification for Dummies. I was completely overwhelmed by the technical detail in these books and convinced that it would be a waste of money for me to sit for the A+ exams. Reading this book changed my mind. The book, combined with experience setting up, securing and troubleshooting a small home network, was sufficient to enable me to pass both parts of the A+ exam on the first sitting. The book does not contain sufficient material to pass the exam if the reader has no IT experience at all - but if you have some experience with a Microsoft based network, and some common sense about supporting end-users, this book may just the ticket.

OK but you'll need more for the test

I took the 202-601 test on 7/26/07 and this book was not enough to prepare for the exam. There were many questions on the test that were not covered in this book. I did pass, but only because I have had previous IT experiance. Combine this book with the New Cram Exam book, especially if you are taking the New A+ certification test.
