The story you will read here is true. If you have not lived a similar story, then this book, while not solely for you, is nonetheless especially for you. It is the saga of one who yearned to give himself over to a Greater Power, to One who could transform the world, and the lives of those in it. It is the tale of a surrender which carries an innate, but unmarked, and ultimately terrifying, price. No sooner was it in place than the questions---nagging unwanted intrusions---began their swell toward an enormous crescendo. To ignore them was very soon not a living option. I needed to understand what was worthy of my allegiance---what it was I could proudly deliver my life to---and what I dared not. Dedicating my LIFE! There's nothing more to give.

But liberation moves in its own time; and enlightenment, I would find, is often not a pretty thing to look at; not a pretty thing at all.
And so in the quest to salvage and craft the quality of our lives there can be no ulterior agenda. Integrity is our most prized victory. Here, commitment to truth is everything. It is really this stance I think, the early commitment to deep guidance---to discover, honor, and participate in, a greatness unshackled to dissemblance---from which this story begins; and it is this stance, I do hope, from which it continues.
