    Happy Soaping?

I bought Casey Makela's book, because I live in a small town, and coconut oil, palm oil, and others are not available. I appreciate her natural approach to soap. Some say her recipes are lye heavy and contain a little too much liquid. Opinions vary on liquid and lye amounts in recipes, but as with any soap recipe I reccomend that you run them through an online lye calculator like Majestic mountain sage's. I have enjoyed her book, and made my first batch from her recipes yesterday. It looks great! I did reduce the lye and the milk as per reccomendation of the MMS calculator. The author also gives you good info. regarding setting a price for your soap, if selling is your aim. She also gives packaging tips, and many other helpful suggestions. I wish you luck and success! And I hope that you enjoy Casey's book as much as I have! It will make a good addition to your Soaping library!
