The Backstreet Boys finally broke and broke big in America during 1998, as if by design. They had been Euro sensations for a couple of years, but it wasn't until Backstreet's Back was unleashed in the U.S. in 1997 that they had a presence in the States, and it was no small presence, either -- after selling over ten million copies, the album remained in the Top 40 on the eve of the release of its sequel, Millennium. And sequel is the appropriate word -- Millennium has no pretense of being anything other than an album for the moment, delivering more of everything that made Backstreet's Back a blockbuster. All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine

There's a familiar blend of ballads and dance-pop, a similar shiny production, a reliance on the Boys' charisma that brings to mind the debut. If Millennium were anything other than big, glossy mainstream pop, such calculation may be a little unseemly, but in this context, it can be rather fun. True, the album doesn't pack as much punch as its predecessor -- there's a number of good songs, but more filler than before, and the Backstreet sound isn't as fresh as it was the first time around -- but it does deliver what fans want: more of the same. And since there are singles as infectious as "I Want It That Way" and a handful of good ballads, that will be enough to satisfy anyone craving more, more, more.

    DIE-HARD BRIAN FAN!

These guys are the BEST!!! Brian is obviously the big talent of the group, but they're all AWESOME! And their music is clean without being immature. While some other groups are dishing out racier lyrics to seem grown up, Backstreet has accomplished the same thing through wholesomeness. Keep it up!

    A great start for Millennium!

It is indeed a great start for a brand new Millenium from the boys to the hearts of their fans! The title itself suggests what a brand new them in terms of their ever refreshing music and album. Definitely this is going to be one of my most favourite albums in my collection!

    A Must Have!

I was so happy with their first album that I knew they would make another one just like it. I was correct, because Millennium is terrific! The blend of songs from up tempos to sweet slow songs is wonderful. I have loved the Backstreet Boys since 1998, and I'm still going strong. They are the greatest, and they deserve to be the best.

If that's your thing, then fine.

This CD was only so-so. There was nothing wrong with it, but there is nothing exceptionally special about it either. I find it boring. This CD helped make me an 'Nsync fan.

    Still the best boyband ever!

In 1997, the Backstreet Boys dominated the American pop charts at number 1, selling millions of copies of their American self-titled debut album called, ''Backstreet Boys'', winning the hearts of fans everywhere in the States. In 1999, the Backstreet Boys returned with their follow-up album, with pure polished pop music entitled, ''Millennium''. With ''Millennium'', the Backstreet Boys sold a whooping 11 million copies (I forget the exact number) within it's first two weeks of it's release world-wide! The Backstreet Boys soon became the most popular band ever, knocking artists like Garth Brooks, Carlos Santana, and the Beetles right off the charts as being the highest number of albums ever sold. ''Millennium'' shows the true side of the Boys, and what really means to them most. Number 1 hit singles like ''I Want It That Way'', ''Larger Than Life'', ''Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely'', and ''The One'' took them a step farther up to superstardom. This album is great with lots of cool upbeat and danceable songs and then there are those wonderful, beautiful ballads which shows the real talent in the Boys' beautiful harmonized vocals. ''Millennium'' has something for everybody of every age - there's even a song Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell wrote, which was deticated to all mothers world-wide. Some people critize the Backstreet Boys because they think the Backstreet Boys don't write their own songs or play their own instruments. But BSB does play their own instruments (each member can play at least one instrument) and they do write their own songs - but only songs by Brian and bandmate Kevin Richardson made it on the album. Kevin also even played the piano for the song ''Back To Your Heart'', which is a great slow, love ballad to listen to. The Backstreet Boys harmonize beautifully, the way their voices blend in with each other is indescribable! And their cut-clean, slick, movie star good looks don't hurt them a bit, either! ''Millennium'' is the top number one CD on my list and is always in my CD player!

A More Mature, Sexier Version Of The Music We Love!

With their newest album, ''Millenium', the Backstreet Boys have made a more mature, sexier version of the music we've grown to love! They have changed their music somewhat, but not enough to lose fans. They have grown wonderful as artists and regular people. My favorite song is Nick's sexy, soulful ''I Need You Tonight''. It shows his more mature sound. You can tell he's trying to turn someone one. They have also grown because they've started writing more of their own songs. Ex. Kevin's ''Back To Your Heart'' and Brian's ''Perfect Fan''.

    Very well done

This is a good album in that every song is good to listen to. I don't skip any of the songs on this album. *nsync has a couple of good songs on thier but what makes the BackstreetBoys superior is that ALL of their songs are good. I can't wait untill the next cd comes out. I'm a major BSB fan now. Thanks Vanessa (my suitemate) for introducing me to the world of BSB and rescuing me from *NSYNC fad-dom.

    BACKSTREET BOYS ARE THE GREATEST

THE BACKSTREET BOYS HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB ON THIS ALBUM. IT HAS HELPED ME THOUGH SOME HARD TIMES IN 1999. I REALLY LOVE ALL THE SONGS ON THE ALBUM BUT MY ALL TIME FAVORITE IS THE PERFECT FAN. BRIAN HAS DONE A GREAT JOB IN WRITING THE SONG. SO BRIAN KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE BOYS.
