Millie & Louise
When Louise's husband Richard dies unexpectedly, she is forced to confront the truth about their unhappy marriage including his infidelities and secret gambling addiction. Overwhelmed with grief, hurt and anger, Louise buys a van – Millie – and seeks to escape by taking a trip to France with no plan other than to purchase some wine from a vineyard in Bordeaux. What she doesn't expect is to meet the mysterious Henri, an Algerian lorry driver who appears and disappears without warning as she travels across France.

Tragedy strikes when Louise is caught up in a terrorist attack in Nice, with a lorry (driven by Henri's son) deliberately ploughing through crowds of carnival goers and injuring Louise herself. With his son dead, Henri is arrested, suspected of also being involved. After visiting Henri in jail to hear him declare his innocence, Louise is ready to return to the UK and enjoy a closer relationship with her children Jake and Gemma.

Millie and Louise is a contemporary women's fiction exploring the themes of loss, terrorism, the secrets even those closest keep and the journey of discovering who you were always meant to be.
