Cinderpaw looked around, frowning to herself. Mistyfang had assigned her a mission last night. She had to find juniper berries and burdrock root. But she couldn't do ot while she was hungry! 'When is my meal coming?" she thought bitterly.
As if on cue, Whitepaw came in, a vole hanging from his jaws. "Good morning, Cinderpaw," he chirruped happily. 'Much happier than he was a quarter moon,' Cinderpaw noted to herself. 'I wonder what made him so perked up?'
"Good morning. How is Dewpaw's training coming?"
"Oh, she is great! She beat me four times in battle practice today. She has the markings of a great warrior."
Cinderpaw nodded, not noticing the purr that burst out of Whitepaw's chest and the affection in his eyes at the mention of Dewpaw. "Thanks for the fresh-kill. Being a medicine cat is harder than I thought!"
"You're welcome. By the way, where's Foxpaw? Firepaw told me he was going hunting, but he usually doesn't take THIS long. He caught a piegon in two heartbeats!"
"You're right!" Cinderpaw mewed, remembering her brother's absence. "We could go look for him. I have to collect herbs, anyway."
"You seem to have enough herbs," Whitepaw questioned, staring at the piles of plants.
"You can never have enough," Cinderpaw growled, starting to get mildly annoyed at Whitepaw's perky additude. "Well, I'm going to fetch herbs and look for Foxpaw. You can come with me if you like."
"I'll bring Firepaw with me. Dewpaw can guard the camp."
Cinderpaw felt a flicker of worry emerge from Whitepaw, but she shook it off. "Let's go, then." She shook her long, silky fur, and padded out of her den.
Cinderpaw triumphantly yanked out roots beside a tree. 'One herb down, one more to go!'
"Cinderpaw, we should be a long way ahead by now. Put those herbs aside and help us look for Foxpaw!"
Cinderpaw sighed. Firepaw had become more strict over the past few moons. She was sure Foxpaw was fine, just hunting a little bit over-time! Gently dropping the burdrock roots on a large leaf, she darted back to Whitepaw and Firepaw.
"I've picked up a scent!" Firepaw exclamed, making Cinderpaw look up from her expediton for juniper. "This way," Firepaw ordered, pointing with her nose to the right.
Cinderpaw trudged along. She had to find some juniper berries before moonhigh, or Mistyfang would be angry! Suddenly, a bitter scent wafted into her nose. She cringed and looked up. With a jolt of horror, she realized that the fear-scent of Foxpaw was mixed with it.
"Over here!" Cinderpaw demanded, running to a tree. She looked around wildly. She couldn't find Foxpaw. But then, she heard a "Up here!"
Cinderpaw looked up and was shocked to see a wounded Foxpaw, clinging to a tree, his pupils dialated.
"What happened, Foxpaw?!" Firepaw screeched, instantly climbing the tree and licking his largest wound, on his neck, and pressing against his flank.
Foxpaw breathed heavily, his sides heaving. Cinderpaw thought he was about to fall out the tree, and ran to the base of it for support.
Foxpaw was still breathing heavily, but it had steadied a little, and finally he choked out, "B-ba-ba-b-ba-"
"Ba?" Cinderpaw frowned. What was a "ba?"
Suddenly, Firepaw leaped out of the tree, while Foxpaw bristled from nose to tail. "Watch out!" they screamed in unision. Cinderpaw whipped around, claws unsheathed, but it was too late. A large, black and white creature loomed over her. Cinderpaw screeched in terror as the creature lunged for her neck.

(Ugh sick again.) Lilypaw looked around. Cats of all sives were wreasling. She quickly spotte her mentor. Lionblaze was slashing a tabby gray tom. Then something hit her. Lionblazd wasn't at the gathering! Jayfeather struggled to fighg the Lionblaze look-a-like. Lilypaw unsheathed her claws and leaped at the tom. She slashed the toms shoulder. "About time!" Jayfeather hissed. The tom grabbed her tail d bit down hard. Lilypaw shreaked out and lashed her paws and cut his nose. The tom bit down harder and harder and harder. Lilypaw smacked his leg and slashed his flank. The tom hissed and pinned her down. Lilypaw scoured the scene for Jayfeather. He was nowhere in sight. "No ones here to save you now!" He laughed. Lilypaw struggled to escape. It is the end she thought. The tom raised his paw and brought it down on Lilypaw..... -------(new P.O.V. Bramblestars) Bramblestar leaped down from the tree. The battle was going badly. Where is the leader he wondered. A flash of ur came by and nocked him over. Bramblestar slashed out his claws. The cat muttered something a scrached his shoulder. Bramblestar rolled over got up. He leaped at the cat. It was a ginger she-cat. She pushed him over and pinned him down. Bramblestar snapped at her leg and she moved it quickly. With his free paw, he slashed her stomach and backkicked her off. Bramblestar pinned her down. He slashed her face. "NOT MY MATE!" A voice roared. A great blac tom leaped at him. Bramblestar tried to slash his shouer but he was too slow. The tom pinned him down. "Never. Touch. My. Mate." He snarled. The tom unshathed his claws. They glinted in the moonlight. He slashed Bramblestar's throat. Blood bubbled up and a wave of darkness overcame him. Bramblestar gave in and fell into a peacful sleep....... Bramblestar snapped ooen his eyes. He was laying in a clearing. Lush forest surounded him. Birds called to each other, mice scurried in the green grass. The sun gleamed overhead
A ginger tabby tom gracefully padded toward him. Very muscle burned as if Bramblestar was on fire. "Firestar!" He manged. "Hello Bramblestar. You lost your first live." Firestar meowed. He reached over and touched noses.... Brambletar wke once again. He was laying in a puddle of blood. Cas were still battling. A gray she-cat stood above him. "Mistystar?" He asked. The moons was gone. The stars were twinckling nervously. Shreching came from all around him. "Good, your alive" she meowed. "How long was I out?" Bramblestar asked. He started to get up. "Things are bad" Mistystar respoded gravely "we are losing. I must rejoin the battle" with that Mistystar leaped away. Will the clans win Bramblestar wondered before leaping back into the battles...

I follow Shyloh to a small room. Six beds are turned slightly sideways to form a circle, all facing the center of the room. My squad is waiting there. They all look worried. Even Caleb is focused.
"Terran! You're alive!" Kara says, looking relieved.
"I thought you were dead." Jonah says.
"Thanks for the confidence, Jonah." I reply sarcastically. "I feel okay. It just scratched me. Nothing serious."
"How do you feel?" Finnick asks, looking concerned.
"Fine." I answer. "I'm fine."
"So, this is where you'll be staying. My section commander wants you all to fight with us. Or at least train. Are you all okay with that?" Shyloh asks.
"That's fine." I say, nodding.
"Alright, then I'll just take you down to the Training Center." Shyloh says, turning and heading out. We get up and follow her out. While we're walking, I realize just how big this place is. When we reach the Training Center, I notice it's much nicer than the one back at the Base.
"So, you all know how to use weapons?" Shyloh asks, turning to us.
"Sort of. Bows and arrows, knives, and guns." Jonah answers. That's all most of the people from my home know. Well, no guns. But bows and arrows, knives. That's what we know, since most people hunt.
"Well, we have just about every weapon still existing here. You can just pick one and test it out. If you have any questions, there's trainers who'll help you." Shyloh says, and walks off.
I look at the shooting range, remembering the explosion, the flames of Finnick's gun exploding...but that was nothing. "Real warfare is much different", I had heard someone saying when I was slightly concious. "In a real war, there's no one to save you."
