Bubbly, bedazzling, and will buzz your socks off.

Moraine, Wisconsin was one of those towns that brought 'em out of the woodwork and they all managed to end up browsing the aisles of the Wild Clover. Inevitably real estate agent Lori Spandle, who once slept with her husband, would show up to harass her about getting rid of her bees and then make her way up aisle one to "squeeze fruit and eat grapes." Puh-lease! As a harbinger of things to come, when Story conducted her candle-making class later that afternoon things got even weirder. A strange woman, bedecked in oversized clothing and a daffy brown wig, almost curled her nose hairs with an overwhelming smell of death. Eyebrows began to raise because everyone except Story realized that weirdo was none other than Laura Kerrigan, a woman who had run over police chief Wayne Jay not once, but twice in the Lost Mile and rumor had it she was back to kill again. When things started to tone down, Story enlisted Holly and pesky Patti Dwyre to help her search for her lost colony of bees. All that stuff about Lauren, the Lost Mile, and the crunched up chief of police had happened sixteen years before, but things have a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it. Slinking around looking for bees in the puckerbrush soon brought up more memories than they counted on. When they heard a couple of gunshots they all cringed at the thought of that creepy Lantern Man who used to terrorize them. Moraine's population was down by two and once again Story appeared to be in the thick of things. Johnny Jay, current police chief, son of Wayne, and Story's nemesis, would soon be asking questions. "You're telling me that you and your sister just happened to be in this exact location mere hours before you just happened to find this body?" The colorful cast of characters, minus two corpses of course, is back and livening up Moraine, Wisconsin once again. I was delighted with Dinky, the new addition to the cast, whose introduction began with a little tinkle on Story's lovely purple flip-flops. It has been said that some recipes simply get better with age and the recipe for this series has been brewing up wonderfully and won't disappoint. The humor and small town charm is back with a vengeance and the hint of future romance in the series will keep the reader anxious for more. I missed seeing more of Grams in this one, but Story's Mom, Helen, was still at it . . . "We used to be such a respectable family. What happened?" If you want to know what the buzz is in Moraine, you'll just have to read the book! Quill says: This second Queen Bee Mystery is bubbly, bedazzling, and will buzz your socks off.

    I Also Recommend:

    You will "BEE" very entertained!!

Story Fischer, her honeybees, her wonderful store, and bullet points are back. Only some of the honey bees are trying to escape, a whole hive empties out and leads Story to "The Lost Mile," the place where the legendary Lantern Man is said to reside. It is a little less than a mile long and had been logged at one time. Now a road has been cut through the middle of it and young saplings of pines and maples are flourishing. Many of the residents of Moraine, Wisconsin believe the story of the Lantern Man is just an old tale made up to keep kids away from the area as it is a place teenagers have used for parties for years.

A former resident of Moraine has also returned and gone missing so while Story is searching for her bees, the rest of the town is looking for Lauren Kerrigan. Story finds her bees in a tree but will need help getting them back to the hive. In the meantime she helps look for Lauren and is quite surprised when not only Lauren but another town resident are found dead almost in the exact spot in the woods where Story found her bees.

You know Story is not going to mind her own beeswax when it comes to these murder investigations. The whole town is buzzing and she will have a honey of a time searching through a swarm of clues to solve these murders.

    I LOVED IT!!!

Not only do I love these mysteries but the characters are absolutely priceless. Story is the perfect protagonist, Story's mother never fails to crack me up, her sister speaks in texting lingo, LOL, her grandmother is so lovable and loyal, her maybe boyfriend is a hunk and the Realtor from hell, Lori, just adds pure delight to these stories.

Hannah Reed is an extraordinary writer. This story is sharp, well written, engaging and full of excitement. This perfect cozy mystery is definitely a must read for all mystery lovers. This book is a really sweet treat and even includes some honey recipes in the back. Everyone will be buzzing about this book and you do not want to miss out on the fun. You will be "BEE" very entertained, this is a honey of a book and a honey of a series.

    An amusing whodunit

In Moraine, Wisconsin, Story Fischer runs the Wild Clover grocery store and manages the Queen Bee honey beekeeping business. Story hosts a candle making killer event at her store. In attendance is a woman she sort of recognizes, but cannot quite place. After class is over, Story learns who her student is. When Lauren Kerrigan was a teen, she drive drunk and killed the Chief of Police.

After being away from town for years, Lauren has come home. Many of the Moraine residents are outraged with her return. However, soon afterward someone kills Lauren near Story's runaway jail-breaking bees. Another villager Hetty is also found dead as the Kerrigan family fume over the death while some townsfolk insist the legendary lethal Lantern Man who haunts the old logging road murdered her. Story knows not to get involved, but investigates anyway as she seems to have an affinity for corpses.

The second Queen Bee amateur sleuth (see Buzz Off) is an amusing whodunit with a taste of honey front and center. Story's bees break out of hive prison and that adds jocularity and a deep look at beekeeping to an entertaining zany mystery as the heroine with her summaries keeps thinking Mind Your Own Beeswax.
