Love this series, but have to say this was my favorite. Who knew Drake would make such a sexy hot alpha after being such an a**hole in the other books. Hope Jazz's "brothers" get stories of their own now?! CE writes the perfect mix of dark suspense, sex and romance so what's not to love?

Cynthia Eden is a prolific romance writer and has written a number of series that have caught my interest. Although I have read and greatly enjoyed her For Me series, I had not had the chance to read any of the books in the Mine series until now with this fourth installment. When I began reading the book, I soon realized that characters and aspects from previous storylines in the series are more interconnected than I expected, and I worried that I might not be able to fully enjoy and appreciate this novel since I hadn’t started the series from the beginning. However, I am glad to report that this was not the case at all.  Eden provides enough exposition and description about the hero, Drake Archer and his close friends, Trace and Noah, who have been featured in previous installments for me to follow this novel’s storyline just fine, so I had no problems with reading it as a standalone novel. Drake Archer’s cold attitude and cynicism, especially toward women is apparent from the first page of the book, and I admit I was taken aback at his austere demeanor and adamant belief that women are objects for sexual gratification and easily discarded. Although Eden provides enough details of Drake’s backstory to help me understand his jaded perspective, I still didn’t warm up to him until much later in the book. For a man who is so distrustful of women, I was surprised at how quickly Jasmine Bennett, despite her attempts to deceive him, becomes the object of Drake’s desire: “He looked at her, and he ached.” He touched her, and he craved.”   Even though Drake’s is sometimes harsh in his treatment of Jasmine, there is always an undertone of gentleness when he is with her that reveals the depth of this man’s character.  So what makes Jasmine so special, especially since she does set out to betray Drake? She defies his expectations of her at every pivotal moment which surprises and intrigues him. Only after he finally begins to accept his growing feelings toward Jasmine does he begin to soften up and become more multi-dimensional.  Despite the mistakes Jasmine has made, I like her. She is definitely not an innocent unwittingly caught up in the fight between Drake and an antagonist from his past. She made choices and committed criminal acts that brought her into the enemy’s camp. Some of her poor decisions have been based on self-preservation, but deep down she is a good person, and her willingness to accept the consequences for her actions and to protect others kept me rooting for her to find a way out of her situation.  Jasmine longs to find love and find a place where she belongs, and a central question throughout the book is whether a man as hardened as Drake Archer can be the man she needs. The novel is a smooth blend of action, danger and romance with some pretty scorching love scenes that are a bit edgier than what I’ve encountered in her other books. Mine to Crave was a good read and has motivated me to want to go back and read the rest of the series.  Source: I received a complimentary copy of this book to provide an honest review.

I say this a lot, but I believe in full disclosure. I haven't read Cynthia Eden's books before (that I remember anyway) and now that I have...yeesh. I wanna read more! First - while characters from prior books definitely show up (at least I assume the married couples featured in earlier books), they do not overwhelm the story nor is having read their books necessary to make this book make sense. It can stand on its own, though there are connections to earlier (and what I assume will be later as well) books. Jasmine - I hadn't quite figured out the entirety of her secret and connections to the FBI agent and lieutenant in the villain's organization when they were revealed, but I highly suspected part of it. Kudos to the author for putting such a complicated back story together for Jasmine. She was strong yet vulnerable, determined yet not completely hardened by the life she'd found her way into. Despite a very rough childhood, she came through it with a very clear idea of what she could and wanted to do to help with things, including to meet her until-now unmet older brother. Drake - For a while I wasn't quite sure how to categorize Drake. He definitely has some very bad events in his past, things that might color him a not-very-good man, but he's risen past them and definitely when push comes to shove and getting Jasmine, he turns out to be a good man, if not a particularly law-abiding man. I enjoyed the relationship between Jasmine and Drake with all its very wild twists and turns. You never knew what was going to pop out next and threaten to derail the relationship before it fully got off the ground. The villain in this book was fantastic. Twisted and evil with nothing (that I saw) in the way of redeeming features. And yet he wasn't a caricature of a man either. He was fully fleshed out, just very...evil. I like when a villain is a villain with little to no ambiguity to it. Not all the time, of course, but in some books it works and in this one, the villain really worked. I can't wait to read more and am so glad I spent the time to read Mine to Crave. Five stars! Book provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Mine To Crave is simply wonderful. The action, the banter, the chemistry, the suspense? All of it is just perfection. This book had so many twists and turns I couldn't even blink or I'd miss a story altering fact. Whatever you think you know going into this book, Ms. Eden will shatter than truth before too long. I love books like this. It's not a cookie cutter book. It has everything and anything I want out of a romantic suspense book. But it doesn't just concentrate on the suspense. The characters have very strong ties to one another, and their relationships develop and grow exponentially over the course of the book. As for Drake and Jasmine, our hero and heroine, they just melt my heart. Even when they're unsure of each other, they're completely consumed by their feelings. And they show it! Gah! I can't tell you how infuriating it is when the characters just play up their doubt and ignore their other feelings. You can have conflicting feelings. Ms. Eden showcases that perfectly in Mine To Crave. You really cannot ask for more well developed characters than the cast this book supplies.  Drake and Jasmine are two individuals who are molded and haunted by their pasts. They both deal with regret and heartache. Despite the trials they have faced, when they come together, albeit under abnormal circumstances, they aren't willing to let each other go. Drake has every reason to hate Jasmine and turn her over for her betrayal, and Jasmine has every reason to turn and run as fast as she can. Something about their connection, and the feelings evoked, stop them dead in their tracks. Just when you think you know whose team everyone is playing for the author will hit you with surprise after surprise until you don't know which way is up anymore. The momentum in this book is hard, fast and unforgiving. You have to pay attention to every nuance, and every blink if you're going to make it to the end. Jasmine and Drake have every road block thrown at them. They never catch a break and it's not a pretty journey to their ending.  In short, I loved every minute of this book. It was refreshing to not have so many moments where the characters acted like idiots. Jasmine and Drake made rational decisions, for the most part, and their story was a believable, once in a million tale that I devoured.  The Breakdown-  Writing: Amazing Characters: Strong, developed, and funny when appropriate The Steam: While the book isn't riddled with sex, Jasmine and Drake's chemistry is off the charts when they do hit the bed... or wall Story: Awesome. Perfect blend of suspense and romance. All of the Mine books are standalone, however there are some minor overlapping details from book to book. I have already added the previous books to my TBR list, so definitely look for those reviews in the near future. I really can't wait to hear about Noah and Trace's HEAs! Happy Reading! *Gifted copy from publisher/author in exchange for an honest review*

This one is my favorite in the series so far! I just loved it. It was just the right mix of suspense, mystery, romance and some really hot sex scenes.  "In a flash, he'd rolled her over, positioning her on her knees. He wanted in her even deeper. 'Hold the headboard,' he ordered. Her hands curled over the wood. 'Hold tight,' he whispered into her ear." Drake Archer is super sexy, badass who will take what he wants. Jasmine Bennett is a fantastic heroine. She is an 'information retrieval specialist', shes smart and able to take care of herself. Shes been on her own since she was fifteen and shes learned to survive. Drake and Jasmine both have a tortured past full of lies and betrayal.  Some things that I love about this book are the character development. I thought all the characters were well developed and just the right sort of complicated. I even thought the secondary characters were so well developed that I wouldn't be surprised if they got their own books. Of course Drake is my favorite and Im read to throw myself at him and have his babies. The storyline, suspense and mystery are all great and kept me guessing. The sex scenes were panty melting! Seriously, almost made me slide out of my seat just reading.  The few things I didn't like about this book is the constant pushing back and forth between Drake and Jasmine. One minute you're all 'I cant live without her' then you're 'shes better off without me'. The same goes for Jasmine although she wasn't as bad about it. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that Drake has been on his own for a VERY long time and now all of the sudden he spots this gorgeous red head in his bar and he gets all insta-possessive.  Overall, it loved it. This was a super fast read and I had a hard time putting it down. The flow of the book was great, the characters were well developed and the plot was complicated but easy to follow. The sex is so awesome that I feel like I might have to take a pregnancy test after this. If you love romantic suspense then the Mine series is for you! You wont be disappointed.

Bullets, intrigue, betrayal, a sexy casino/club owner, feisty redhead spy and their steamy and fire extinguisher worthy sex! And that is just the first couple of chapters! Jasmine Bennett as been running her whole live, from one frying pan into another, since she was 15, because she has so many secrets, that she is either hiding or running from. Jasmine has been an "Information retrieval specialist" to survive and her next assignment is the yummy, sexy and dangerous casino and club owner, Drake Archer. Get as close as possible, tease, distract, break into his secure computer, but never ever have sex with him. Drake Archer has been many things in his life, military, spy, covert contractor, entertainment mogul and also a killer. He has so many regrets, but the one thing he will always remember, "Women are liars, deceivers, killers and never love or trust any of them!" Drake learns from the hands of the woman, as she stabbed and attempted to kill him. Now all women are only used for one thing, sexual release. Jasmine rocks Drake's world, when she is running from his club by an unknown man, who Drake thinks either wants to rape or kill her. When Drake realizes Jasmine is bait, he basically kidnaps her to his Vegas home and start their sexual game of dominance. She pushes his buttons and he caresses all of hers. Drake not only wants this fiery redhead, but CRAVES her and wants to keep balls deep inside of her. Jasmine has never had so many orgasms in her life, but the wall around her heart are breaking open. Their dangerous adrenaline filled adventure takes place in Vegas and New Orleans, has bullets flying, the FBI, explosions, vengeance from an old nemesis from his past, Drake's helpful family and "PULL THE FIRE ALARM" passions galore. Can Drake not only trust, but love Jasmine? Can Jasmine keep the danger away from Drake? Who wants them both dead? When will they realize that their love will make them stronger? This is my first Cynthia Eden's contemporary romance without vampires, shape shifters or demons. I have always loved Ms. Eden's humor, great characters and steamy and passionate scenes, but I was scared that without paranormal the story wouldn't be as good. Ms. Eden throws bullets, intrigue, explosions, dominance charged sexual scenes and two truly lonely people into my book cosmos and I fell in love with all of it. Jasmine is a strong, kick a$$ and "takes no names" heroine, but she is so flawed, damaged and also screaming for acceptance and love. Drake is a harden, torture and "heart behind a minefield" hero, who learn all his lessons the hard way, with pain and betrayal. Ms. Eden doesn't disappoint with her "sparks, steamy and then BOOM" there goes my Kindle scenes. She receives my score of 4 fingers up and 9 toes! The rest of the Mine series is at my library, so YEAH for me! NetGalley ARC given for my honest review.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 REVIEW:   This was my first book in Cynthia’s Mine Series.  Mine to Crave easily read as a stand alone, but I will say that there are ties from this book that link back to book 1 so I would suggest starting from the beginning. I now have the first 3 books on my Kindle and will be going back and reading very soon.  That said on to the review.  Drake, Drake, Drake.  I am guessing that this guy has never hear that you don’t mess with fate.  Because she always wins.  No matter how hard you try to fight it Fate always wins.   In Drakes case it will be Fate tempting him with something, no someone he never thought he would want, need or ever have. Only problem is that what Fate gives Fate always takes away.  Jasmine is a girl with a lot of secrets and none of them are good.   So when she is hired to hack into Drake’s computer she has no problem.  At least not until she meets Drake and finds a very personal photo of him in his desk drawer.    These two have a bit of a wild ride ahead of them.  But it is a good ride.  Lots of twists and turns along the way.  I will say that there were a few surprises and a few things that were not as surprising.  But all and all I really like that story.  I can’t wait go back and read the first three books and I am looking forward to what Cynthia has in store for us next.  Disclaimer:  I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley & Cynthia Eden  in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
