Overview

Long after the wars are over, millions of land mines continue to indiscriminately maim and kill civilians all over the world. In this book, the tragic and unforeseen consequences of these leftover land mines are examined through photographs of deceptively innocent landscapes paired with globe-trotting investigative essays on the extent of the problems, and possible solutions (some of which involve satellite imagery). Additional ephemera include images of the land mines themselves as well as prosthetic arms, fingers, and metal joints to ensure that we never forget the human costs of these deadly mines.
