Shannon has done a wonderful job of chronicling her experiences from infertility to Family Day.  Be prepared for heart wrenching lows and spiritual highs, as you meet the Turner family.  As a waiting parent, I cannot begin to explain how deeply touched I am by this book.  But I must warn you, this message comes with a 4-Tissue Box rating (my highest award) for Shannon's ability to make you feel as if you are experiencing things right along with her. For all my friends and family who want to know what our adoption process entails, I am going to have them read this book.  I think it is a fantastic complement to 'Lost Daughters of China.'

A must read for anyone going through an international adoption. Heartwarming and realistic first hand account of the ups and downs of the adoption process. Read it in a day.

Shannon Turner writes a beautiful story of a family's devotion and dedication to bring a girl into their family. Unable to have more children, Shannon embarks on an effort to adopt a Chinese girl. Health and financial obstacles only fortify the family's committment to achieve their goal. Shannon travels to China and is given a three year old angel - Marlee. Shannons' account of Marlee's devotion of an another orphan - Chloe will indelibly impress you with the emotions these little girls are experiencing. A book that will bring tears of laughter and love for this little girl and her adoptive family.

Wow! That was my initial reaction. Shannon has a wonderful writing style filled with humor. She paints a picture of the events as they unfold with such clarity that I felt like the experiences were mine rather than hers. Because of Shannon's faith and determination, she has served as a blessing to me and an inspiration as I travel on my journey to adopt my own child from China. The details of the adoption process and details of time spent in China are very helpful to those waiting to go through the same thing.

I just recently finished my copy of "Miracles for Marlee" and I must say it was wonderful. As a person who does not sit down to read much, I found this book to be easy to read, well written, and a must for anyone adopting or thinking about adopting from China. As a soon to be adoptive parent I gained much needed insight and strength during this last month of my waiting. Shannon Turner and her family must truly be angels.

The author ably transforms readers into feeling, emotional participants in a wonderful story. I felt the whole gambit of human emotions while reading this book. Through a perfect balance of physical, detailed description and all the caring and feeling of a mother, the author has told a story that is more than intriguing for everyone, even if one hasn't ever anticipated parenthood or adoption. This is a book worthy of deep feeling, while still following a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

This book is a MUST read for anyone thinking about adopting from China or from anyone who has already adopted. It is beautifully written as you become one with the story and feel as if this is your own personal journey to your child. I felt the heartache and the joy every step of the way. Be sure to have kleenex on hand as you read. You will need them, even if you think, "Nah, I never cry over books". This one will get to you. DON'T PASS THIS ONE OVER!!! you won't be disappointed.

I bought Shannon Turner's book, "Miracles for Marlee" and finished it in two days! I loved it! I was amazed at all of the trials that her family endured, and particularly those that Shannon herself endured, as they struggled to add a daughter to their family. Ms. Turner did an excellent job of pulling the reader into her experiences. She dealt with emotions ranging from utter despare to total elation, and I felt every one of them as I read the book! I am also the parent of a beautiful daughter adopted from China, so much of the book brought back wonderful memories of our own experiences in bringing our child home. Many people ask me about what's involved with adopting internationally, and I will be sure to refer them to this book. You don't just jump on a plane and pick up a baby; it's a long, arduous, expensive process that ultimately ends in a miracle. Kudos to Ms. Turner for telling her amazing story so eloquently!

This is truly a touching story and a wonderful book. The Turner family experienced much heartache when they could not have a second child, but their hearts were healed when they adopted their precious daughter from China. The attention to detail is wonderful and the story comes to life as if the reader is right there in China. The author's sense of humor is amazing as she goes through difficult times, especially while traveling. I laughed and cried and thoroughly enjoyed the sweetness of little Marlee. It is inspiring to realize how one family has so dramatically changed the life of a little girl in an orphanage. The strength the Turner family has shown is admirable. This book is very well-written and easy to read. Highly recommended!

This book teaches a powerful lesson. If you know what you are persuing is right, keep pushing through whatever may come your way. Shannon does a beautiful job telling her story. She has been through a lot to fulfill her wish for a daughter. It was like being right there with her through every step of the process. The story can tug at your heart one moment and then fill your heart with love the next. Thank you Turner family for sharing such a wonderful story with us.

This story was so compelling that I could not put it down until I finished it. The author's descriptions are so vivid that you will feel as if you are right there with her. When you meet Marlee, you can't help but fall in love with her. What a delight!

I would recommend this to anyone considering adoption. However, if you are even considering adopting from China, this book is a must read. It is a joy to read and very informative about steps of adoption from someone who struggled through the process. The book begins with her desire to have a child and her struggle with infertility. Then how, with God's faith, she gathers the strength to overcome obstacles, and travel to China. However, it does not end with her trip to China. It details her trip there, which is both wonderful and difficult, to meet her child. If you have ever thought adoption might be for you, please consider this book. Perhaps God has a little miracle waiting for you.

Having finaly raised the money and waited the long year for the opportunity to travel to China to meet her new daughter we are introduced to the wonderful Marlee. This little girl will touch your heart with her humor and generosity. Please do yourself a favor and read it and share it with others.
