Overview

Since Kristina Talbot can remember, she's had to earn the love of men in her life, only to be hurt in return. On the heels of her abusive husband's death, she leaves New York and heads to New Mexico to try and get her life heading down a new road - one that doesn't include a man.

However, Nathan McKinley sets up a roadblock to her plan. His charming and gentle personality are no match for her love-starved heart. When Nathan shows her God in a new light, and how to place her trust in Him, she begins to hope...

When tragedy strikes close to Kristina's heart, her fears come flooding back, threatening to engulf her newfound hope. Can Nathan help her cling to her new relationship with God, or will she allow her dark and troubled past to pluck out the tiny bud of hope that's blossoming within her heart?

Meet the Author

When Michelle Lynn Brown was a teenager, her mother used to take her to used books stores at least once a month. It was there she fell in love with the written word. As a writer, she uses this passion to share with others the joy of having a personal and intimate relationship with Christ.

She is a housewife, mother of three, military spouse, writer, blogger, hopeless romantic, and a cuddly lap for one very large cat. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, but raised in El Paso, Texas. And since she married her husband, the military has blessed her with the opportunity to live in many locations, from Germany to Pennsylvania, where she now resides.

Like the flawed characters that grace her books, she has had many stumbles and struggles in her life. God's grace and mercy through these trials have kept her on her knees. It is from this humble position that she seeks to minister through her writing - not as someone who has it all figured out, but just someone who has figured out how wonderful and awesome God is.

This novel is well written and beautifully thought out. From the intriguing mystery of her past to the interactions amoung the characters this book captures the reader into a spell that will keep them thinking well after the book is over. The subplots contained within the story flow well with the main point of the story while also leading well into the next book without making a cliffhanger of the ending. I recommend this book to everyone though there are some topics that may not be well suited for children under 13. Though no details are given the subject matter, while crucial to the story, may be considerd inappropriate for a younger audience. I would call this novel one of the highlights of my summer and highly suggest it.

I got this book free on my tablet, but now that i read it i probably wouldnt buy it. I did like it, i found that the abuse was so true, so real. There were things in this book that i have learned from abuse already, so i was happy to read what she wrote about, abuse wise. And besides that, i lovee Nathan! Hes a charmer alright! Kristiana was sweet, but i felt her pain and fear. There were times of laugh, love, seriousness, and joy in this book. But i rated it four because of some words used in this book that refer to sin, i felt bad for the characters who went through it all. But still, i vant stand reading books with words like that..

Michelle did an awesome job at interwining the truths of God and real life in a very romantic and sweet love story. There were many times when I stopped to reflect and pray.. Great read! Really hard to put down the book. I finished this in two days!

Kristina has suffered neglect or abuse from men most of her life until she decides to start over in a new place. This book is not only has a message about learning to trust God, but also about learning to trust other people and using your past to help others.

163 pages. Extremely religious. Deals with spousal abuse, teenage rape, subsequent unwanted pregnancy, bullying, and other adult topics. This is a Christian romance. It was okay, but rather sappy and preachy. I did not care for it very much. Everytime I write anything negative about this type of book, I feel guilty, as if I am doing something wrong. I guess this harkens back to a very strict, religious upbringing. For adults. Chick lit. Two and a half stars. AD

Music & Words make a Song God creates. Kristina goes from being manipulated & controlled by men, to surrendering all to God & gaining healing & true love. Nate goes from fearing failing God, to stepping into forward into God's true purpose for him, as God's Tool. This wonderful book I highly recommend!
