There are more than a few memorable tunes and with this recording the lyrics serve to imprint these songs in you memory. The best tracks are Mingus Eyes, BeesWing, The Way That is Shows, God Loves a Drunk and Mascara Tears. That said they are all standouts.
Richard Thompson's career has provided us with dozens of recordings that range from very good to outstanding. This is one of the outstanding ones. Beautifully subtle yet filled with genuine emotional richness.

1991's Rumor and Sigh was among Richard Thompson's best-selling and most warmly received albums, even gaining a bit of radio and MTV exposure which introduced Thompson to a wider audience than ever before.
