Overview

Indi Falcone, owner of the popular book store, Romantic Hours, is writing her own romance. But there is a problem. She is having trouble creating a believable hero. She sees Max Avery as vividly masculine and heroic but on paper he is anything but. So she has joined her friend, Diana, on a tropical island holiday, thinking a change of scenery might fix the problem.
It's not working.
And then she has a humiliating encounter beside the pool and meets a tall and dark, very gorgeous but seriously arrogant male, who makes her blood boil. With anger – or is that something else?
A second encounter with the same stranger, who is not in a good mood (again), and appears to think she is someone else, does nothing for her previously calm and happy disposition.
Then she is presented with a striking look-alike of herself. How can this be? Ginni Hunter is a model on assignment for a swimwear company and her photographer is the same grumpy stranger Indi keeps having encounters with.
In a weak frivolous moment, fueled by several glasses of wine, the look-alikes decide to swap places for a laugh. Ginni flies back to Auckland and Indi's bookshop, and Indi takes her place in front of the camera – after a ten minute drunken crash course in modeling and book selling.
Quickly realising the potential repercussions of their childish prank, both girls want out – but with an ocean and a modeling schedule between them, along with a cranky photographer and snooping agency boss, it seems they will have to ride the nightmare out.
Briefly, things improve for Indi when Tash arrives at her room, looking like he has just stepped off the pages of Male Fashion Quarterly, to take her out to dinner. Just as their relationship looks like it's taken a turn, definitely for the better after a night of mind-blowing passion, Tash's very sexy and gorgeous ex-wife arrives on the island. And it's not a suntan she's looking for.
Realising she is nowhere near entering Rochelle's league, Indi makes a no-win decision and things go from bad to badder.
When she finally arrives back in Auckland, her love life in tatters, she is invited with Ginni to a dinner party, organised by Ginni's agency boss.
The party changes not only the two girls' lives but that of each of the guests - Tash and his ex wife, a love-torn wealthy playboy called Roger, Ginni's Dad, and a glamorous mystery woman.
When Marlene reveals to her amazed guests the reason for the dinner party, a shocked Indi realises that her life is never going to be the same again.
Only fate can lend a hand but, from a hospital bed, what sort of hand is likely?

Meet the Author

I have wanted to be a writer since I was 15, when my English teacher introduced me to a whole new world of language and literature. My first publishing experience was in the school year book and I was hooked. I have been writing ever since and have had many short stories published in a range of magazines plus, one year, while handling the advertising for a national newspaper, I convinced my editor to let me write for the paper as well. Today, with my 4th book half complete, I operate a writing bureau from my home office, helping people with their writing needs. I live with my husband in a pretty waterfront cottage on the outskirts of the beautiful east coast Village of Orewa.

    Excellent read!

By day Edie owns a busy and successful bookstore in her community. By night Indi Falcone is a romance writer trying to write the character of the perfect man for her novel however she experiences a slight writer's block in the entire process. She rarely takes vacations and spends a majority of her time working at her bookstore or her nose in a book. Her close friend convinces her to finally go on a much needed vacation. Unfortunately why she was on this glorious destination for singles called The Resort and all Edie could think of was about the book she was writing and how it was a failure in her eyes. She had considered changing the occupation of the character or the character's sidekick friend due to the lack of sexual steam and tension her leading man Max was missing in her book. While at The Resort She bumps into her leading man in the flesh while she was there and the whirlwind adventure of this story begins. I loved the immaculate details of the characters and the challenges they faced. I was immediately captured from the beginning of the book by Edie Falcone as I could identify with her love for books and the deep analysis of characters and plot lines. I had a hard time putting this book down and I can't wait to read more books by Amelia Rose.
