Doch das liegt noch in weiter Ferne, vorerst erkunden die drei die Möglichkeiten der Magie und der Rhimor-Kristalle. Im Gegenstück zur Sahara produzieren sie neue Materialien, molekularverdichtetes Eisen mit nie gesehenen Eigenschaften. Schließlich entstehen sogar Tesseracte, vierdimensionale Würfel, die Herzen der Muster der atlantischen Magier.

Diese neuen Tesseracte heizen sich auf. Liegt das an einem Konstruktionsfehler? Wäre es eine Zerfallserscheinung, hätten die Tesseracte unterschiedliche Temperaturen, in der Reihenfolge ihrer Entstehung, doch der neueste Tesseract ist genauso warm wie die älteren Exemplare.

Es gibt demnach einen äußeren Effekt, eine Erscheinung, die Magier tötet oder ihre Kräfte anwachsen läßt. Nach den Lebensdaten der Großmagier finden Odalin und Michael heraus, daß dieser Effekt alle 1.350 Jahre auftritt. Irgendwie spielt sogar der große Siral, der Kristall im Altar des Haupttempels von Atlantis, bei diesem Ereignis eine wichtige Rolle, denn auch er erhitzt sich.

Die Verbindung nach Gilian bricht zusammen, Adrea wird von ihren Freunden abgeschnitten. Jetzt bleibt ihnen nur abzuwarten, ob ihre Fähigkeiten wachsen oder der Tod nach ihnen greift. Aber nicht nur die Magier sind betroffen, denn in Poseidonis bricht eine Epidemie aus, bei der die Menschen unter rasenden Kopfschmerzen leiden. Nur ein einziges Medikament hilft dagegen: die Gute Aura, die Odalin und Michael erzeugen.

Nur die Kraft des alten Eonata schützt vor der schmerzhaften Attacke aus dem Nichts...
