=================
Dr. Carter G. Woodson was an extraordinary scholar, educator, historian, and above all, servant of his people. He dedicated his life to correcting the historical recording regarding Blacks in the United States. Woodson's conviction was that this correction would change both how Whites saw and treated Blacks and how Blacks saw and treated themselves. His firm belief in the power of education to uplift our people rings through in every chapter of this book.

As powerful as the day it was written, the purpose of Dr. Woodson's book is not only to argue, but to agitate; not only to inform but to transform; and not to complain, but to provide a thoughtful, thorough plan for the uplift of the African American community. In designing and writing this Guide, we worked to capitalize on this same spirit- providing fresh and new ways to consider The Mis-Education in the context of the 21st century. More than any other time in our history, we need the messages that The Mis-Education delivers.

This Study Guide was written and designed with the purpose of making Dr. Woodson's words accessible to 21st century readers. Prepared to help teachers, professors, counselors, mentors and tutors introduce Woodson's message to their middle, high school and college students, users will benefit from the guide's many features. The guide can also be used by individuals, book clubs, or historical branches interested in delving deeply into Woodson's book.

    A Must Read To Any Who Seek A Need For Change

    I took a shot in the wind at picking this book to begin my quest for "re-discovery" and I could not believe the impact it had on my life. There will not be any one person who reads this book to the end who will not understand the need for self-improvement. It has become a very profound encouragement that someone over one-hundred years ago could aide me in being a better member to our social relationships. I now have the desire to speak of facts that I have learned, rather than defend my past blindly. Amazing how one can provide an intellectual reasoning, in support of God's Law, that promotes this type of "uprising" in myself. Carter G. Woodson gave to the world, a way to make a difference in our communities. I encourage everyone who views this rating to "take a shot in the wind", you will not be displeased. An absolute must read for anyone who seeks a need to change!

    The anwsers for our education system.

    A great book written by Carter Goodwin Woodson which Woodson explains the problems of our education system. For example most eduacted black teachers did not want to educate black children and the ones that wanted to get an education educated black teachers reufse to educate them. Woodson also gives the differences between black colleges and public schools and white colleges and publlic schools. I belive polticians or teachers and paretns should read this book because everyone will learn sometthing about the education system back in ninteen thirty three and how the issues that where going through back then. Today were are going through the same issues failing public schools and some failing colles.
