I recommend this book to all mental health professionals, parents of gifted children, and adults like myself who are not only gifted, but also misunderstood and suffer from any form of mental or emotional difficulties. This book introduced me to existential depression. Through outside research and conversations with my peers, we have concluded that this atypical form of depression is the root of my turmoil. At the same time, I now have a better understanding of myself and of others who experience it, and thus, have obtained some much needed relief. I appreciate all of the work which has gone into this book and the work of those individuals whose articles, books, research, and websites were mentioned in this book. This read changed my life.
