Miserable Souls
"In competition someone wins and someone loses, and in our world some people have already won."

The laws that dictate our advent into this world bares proof of our lack of self-sovereignty...and oft we justify our rise in station, or want for happiness, through the possession of our tinkered minerals and stone. We delude ourselves...

Follow Aiden Smith as we explore the nature of human ambition. This Blue-blooded young adult had the best of it; he attended a prestigious boarding school on the shores of Miami, Florida and much was expected of him. To everyone he had everything, but his desires lead to an early and troubling death. But how so? What does one want when they are born with everything...so much that it would cost them their life?

About the Author

Marc-A R Richardson was twenty-six years old at the time of this book’s publishing. He was born on the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and grew up on the island of Aruba. It was in the cool shade of his parents’ tropical veranda where he fell in love with books like Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye, Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five and Conrad’s Heart of Darkness as a teen. He excelled in studies such as literature, drama and creative writing and he thanks his high school teacher, John Douglas, for encouraging his creative ability to this day.
Though Marc loves to write, he also has a knack for business and finance. Upon his high school graduation he decided to move to London, the hub for international finance, to study for his Bachelor’s degree. His college of Richmond, the American International University, was quite like Shoreline International in that it was private, posh and littered with some of the most brilliant and over-privileged young adults he had ever met. Though he has gained lifelong friends at that university, he couldn’t help but be inspired by some of them as they were all studying finance, economics and international relations in the middle of the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression. Being among young adults who were told that the world was their oyster for most of their lives and then watch as the world crumbled around them as jobs became scarce for young adults, particularly in Europe, was inspiring.
Since his London experience, Marc has moved to the east coast of the United States of America where he became a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch. In his free time he enjoys philanthropy, travel and sitting back on a Sunday with a glass of whiskey and a blank page.
