Overview

The last thing she planned to steal was his heart.

When Pandora Bramble steps aboard the Company’s premiere airship Daedalus it’s not for the exclusive VIP tour. It’s to secure proof that the Company stole the regulator valve her father designed—even if it means tearing the engine apart. Foiled by the unexpected appearance of a handsome crew member, she despairs of ever getting another chance—until he kisses her.

Captain Theolonius Hatch, sentenced to engine room duty for refusing to take part in the Company’s fleet week activities, never dreamed a woman like Pandora existed. Her brains match her beauty, a combination that adds up to more trouble than he ever expected.

As Pandora allows Theolonius to sweep her into a whirlwind courtship, her wildest dreams come true. As do her greatest fears, leaving her to decide what matters most. Loyalty? Or love?

The clock is ticking…

***minor spoiler alert*** I really liked Pandora Bramble. She's smart, she's got gumption, but she's not perfect. And I love that what attracted Theo to her first was the fact that she knew about steamship engines. Although I'm generally disappointed in romance novellas because I feel they gloss over too much relationship development, this one did pretty well in that department. And it made me cry, in a good way, so, it gets an extra star for that. The tears were quite unexpected, but when Pandora found out that she just stole a valve from a steamship for the wrong reason and Theo is there for her and understanding and tells her he wants to marry her....well, they just came out. Would I have liked a little bit longer story? Yes. Do I feel the author did the characters and the story justice with the length the story actually was? Yes. I guess I'm just a greedy reader who often wants more.

I loved this book. The characters were engaging and the plot was fun. My only problem was that the book was too short. Everything seemed to move very fast and then it was over. Still, ultimately it is a good book that I really recommend.

"Why," Spiderleg repeated, "Are you hunting on Thunderclan territory?" "There is no food!" Spat Rowanclaw. "We are hungry!" "Me too!" Hissed Ginger. "Go hunt then." Awnsered Amberpaw. "I told you, there is no food!" He spat. "We give you three seconds to get off our territory." Snarled Bumblestripe. "Not without a fight." Hissed Scorchfur. The two faced eachother. Spiderleg knew they would win. After all, they were a party of five and they were three. *Foolish* he thought. He yowled as Rowanclaw's claw came down on him. He lept over the cat and attacked it behind, biting his scruff. Amberpaw lept infront and clawed him. Spiderleg felt Spikepaw leap on him, but he shook him off. The ShadowClan patrol wriggled away and slunk into the ShadowClan territory. "Come on." Mewed Spuderleg and the trio padded to camp. When they got there, cats hissed. Several backed away. Daisy hurried into the nursery. Jayfeather sat at the entrance of the medicence den, confused. His hackles raised when he smelled a strange cat. Spiderleg, Amberpaw, Bumblestripe, Seedpaw and Ginger sat in the midst if them. A hush came over the cats as a drak brown tom, noble and majestic, padded out of the leaders den. Spiderleg mewed. "Bramblestar." <p> (Sorry it was short. More later. ~ TMS
