Overview

Love, larceny, and lies.

When is a love letter not a love letter? When it’s mail fraud. Or in this case, female fraud.

Jason Alexander is one angry Alaskan, and he’s out to get his woman; the letter-writing Lolita who’s running the Miss Lonely Hearts con game in his bailiwick. She’s taking lonely Alaskans for a roller-coaster ride and cashing in on love. When she hits the patrons of his bar The Last Resort, the retired gambler takes it personally and goes out for justice.

Cassandra Adams has just been dumped by ex-fiancé number two. She’s fed up with Romance Roulette and ready to trade her rosy daydreams for hardheaded practicality. The logical solution? She’s going to search the classifieds for the mail-order marrying man she wants.

She thinks she’s found him in Jason, alias Alex Sanders. He thinks he’s hooked Miss Lonely Hearts. And the regulars at The Last Resort think it’s high time Jason got married, so they’re not about to clarify matters when they discover his mistake.

Together Jason and Cassandra will have to cut their way through the tangle of love, larceny and lies to unmask Miss Lonely Hearts and find a happy ending that’s a sure bet.

Meet the Author

Charlene Teglia decided she wanted to earn a living writing fiction at age twelve. After piling up enough written pages to sink Atlantis again, she sat down to write a novel and find out if it would sell. The first novel was so much fun that she got carried away and kept going, although it took another eight years to make her first novel sale. In between, she worked for various software and technology companies. She left HP when she realized she wanted to write printer repair instructions in iambic pentameter. They thought she was so funny, they left her name plate on her cube after she left like a shrine. Or maybe it was as a warning to others. She now lives with her husband and two daughters in Washington.

Teglia's books have garnered several honors, including the prestigious Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award for Best Erotic Novel. Her work has been translated into Spanish, Thai and German, excerpted in Complete Woman, and selected by the Rhapsody, Doubleday and Literary Guild Bookclubs. When she's not writing, she can be found hiking with her family or opening and closing doors for cats.

I have only read one other book by Charlene Teglia and loved it. I had high hopes for this book as well. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The description provided a warning, it reads: "WARNING: This book contains hot, explicit sex between two people explained in graphic language." When in reality it should have read "WARNING: This book contains boring chapters leading up to a very anticlimatic love scene. Please only read when on a caffeine buzz so you don't fall asleep." I wasn't even able to finish this book and returned it to the store that I bought it from the very next day. It had promise but failed to deliver.

I wish I could write a review on the book itself but alas I cannot. I purchased this for my nook and when I tried to open the book I received a different book altogether! After several attempts and an email to customer service I finally gave up and deleted it.
