    Dosent Get Any Better

This is by far the BEST recording and proformance of Miss Saigon I have ever heard. It is so increadible that I ask my friends "Have you heard the DREAM CAST of Miss Saigon?" The role of Kim is outstanding from "The Movie in My Mind" to "I'd Give My Life for You." I recomend this to anyone who LOVES Miss Saigon as much as I do (but I dont think anyone can Love it as much as I do.) Can cds be played so much that they don't work anymore, because if they can I may have to buy another copy od Miss Saigon again. This is truly a DREAM CAST.

    This copy's pros and cons

I loved Miss Saigon from the first time I saw it! This recording is complete, includes songs such as Now That I've Seen Her (as opposed to Her or Me), not to mention includes essentially the entire play, and Joanna Ampil is incredible as Kim. However, Peter Cousens is quite weak, and his voice has too much vibrato. The London Cast recording has slightly stronger voices, but lacks all of the songs, since Miss Saigon is nearly an opera.

    Complete Saigon....the 'whole' picture

This 1995 Recording of Miss Saigon is by far one of the greatest recordings ever. It includes EVERYTHING and therefore, you get the whole picture and just how they did this recording almost allows you to feel like you are actually on stage watching it. The music is incredible (the orchestrations are superior to Les Misérables, and I'm a die-hard Mis fan, so that's a pretty good compliment), the singing is incredible (I liked Peter Cousins as Chris....feels more 'American' than Simom Bowman does), and the actors selected were good for their roles....however, I do think that Hinton Battle went a little too 'pop' for his role as John, and it shows in Bui-Doi. I do not like that rendition of it. Peter Polycarpou's rendition of it is more sentimental. But, both were good. And, the changes that Boubil and Schonberg did to their show were incredible. They made the show become more 'alive' than it was. Overall, a good album.

superb cast for this complete recording

Kevin Gray shines as the Engineer! Pryce was good but Gray Rocks. this complete version of Saigon is the best I've heard so far.
