Overview

Most of us dream of becoming wealthy. While some take steps to achieve it, few realize the goal. Why? According to financial planner Douglas R. Andrew, flawed financial strategis - or what he calls "money myth-conceptions" - lead us down the wrong road. In his revolutionary financial guide, MISSED FORTUNE: Dispel the Money-Myth Conceptions - Isn't it Time You Became Wealthy?, Andrew rattles conventional attitudes about personal investments and challenges readers to build wealth with new and - and very contrarian - strategies.

I encourage readers to check the performance of Universal Life Products the past 5 years. There are many pitfalls to this strategy---especially if interest rates rise, stocks go down and real estate 'cools' Retirees need to be especially careful!

Much has already been said - to which I endorse this book¿s overwhelming ability to change the way you think. With that I also caution the need for clarity and focus in the execution of these strategies. I have been fortunate to meet with Doug and had him explain these strategies personally. Although these strategies could benefit everyone, not everyone is the same and thus differing results are inevitable. After having read this book, I not only implemented these strategies myself, but have integrated them into my professional practice and have clients grateful for the insights. To reiterate, these strategies are not for everyone. If you read the book I think it becomes self evident who it is not appropriate for, but may I allude to them as those who feel ¿equity is for consumption and not conservation¿.

Universal Life can a far better product than your IRA or 401K. Keep looking if you can't find one which has an excellent track record, even in bad times, keep looking until you find it. Good ones do exist. Plus you can take money out after a few years, tax free, and use it for other investments. I dare you to beat that with an IRA or 401K. Also you are insured. This is why smart investors make money. They know better.

Doug Andrews is a genius! This book completely transformed my train of thought and has had an extremely positive impact on me both professionally and personally. I would strongly urge anyone seeking truth in financial matters to read Doug's book.

This book goes against all the traditional advice of saving money in 401k, IRA, SEP, or any other qualified retirement plan. Douglas Andrew proves what a hoax traditional financial planning really is. Finally a truthful book about money and how to accumulate it and keep it. Someone give a copy to Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman!!!
