Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Heather Phares
Hans Zimmer's music for Mission Impossible 2 blends rock, electronica, world, and symphonic elements into an uneven score that ranges from successful eclecticism to bombastic predictability. Some of Zimmer's most interesting and effective moments are his quietest: subtle, sensual, flamenco-inspired pieces like "Seville" and "Nyah" which features guitarist Heitor Pereira are more compelling than the over-the-top samples, beats, and techno explosions on tracks such as "Mano a Mano" and "Bio-Techno." Zap Mama's version of the African folk-pop classic "Iko Iko" and Zimmer's techno-rock update of Lalo Schifrin's "Mission: Impossible Theme" provide some of the other highlights...

Like the film itself, Mission Impossible 2 doesn't always find the right balance for its explosive and contemplative moments, but will probably please Zimmer fans as well as fans of the movie.

Hans Zimmer Is Back Making His Mission Impossible A Sucssess!!!!!

Once again Hans brings another outstanding score. As ussual, Hans knows how to set the mood for this score. Which is action packed, spy sizzling, intense, beautiful, and graceful music. The music alone can make the movie a huge success. This is great music for when you're on the road. I blast it when I'm driving my Jeep Wrangler and it's great. This is a must get score. You'll love it even if you don't like movie scores!

    Score Explodes

The score to M:I-2 is great. Hans did an absolute fabulous job on it. It captures the mood of this outstanding movie by John Woo. If you like movie scores, this is a must to have.

    Zimmer conquers AGAIN!!!

Hans Zimmer is undoubtedly my favorite score composer in film music today; this score has truly shown Zimmer's versitility bringing back some of the rock feel he used in his earlier film's like Days of Thunder, Bird on a Wire, and Black Rain. However, he also blends the emotional beauty of a female voice to enhance the experience and bring the movie up to a whole new level. Zimmer's talent, along with John Woo's genius, brought what originally could have turned out to be a shallow scene to a new cinematic level. Music scores simply don't get much better than this!!!!

Hans Zimmer just completed Mission Impossible!

I simply could not believe that gorgeous score which far surpassed Danny Elfman's. This is the best! Way to go Hans!

    Hans Zimmer Does It again!

Through the years, we've enjoyed Han Zimmer's moving scores. From Driving Miss Daisy to The Rock. He has brought laughter and tears to the silver screen. I was surprised to hear the moving music for Mission Impossible II (Although I loved the show, I think the music was too good). His new style of vocals brought me into the Gladiator several times. It brought so much emotion. Mission Impossible II definitely captures its audience with the music.
