About the Author

A.G. Unklesbay is a retired Professor of Geology and a former Vice President of Administration for the University of Missouri System.  He is author of numerous books including The Common Fossils of Missouri.

Jerry D. Vineyard is Deputy State Geologist of Missouri and Director of the Missouri State Water Plan.  He is author and coauthor of several books, including Springs of Missouri and Geologic Wonders and Curiosities of Missouri.
