    A Terrific Read

The Mitchell Money is a terrific read. I loved it. Rachel Mitchell is finding her way again after her controlling husband dies suddenly. Mitch had always told Rachel she'd have plenty of money if he were to die. But she finds herself penniless. Mitch hid the money, and he hid a lot of other things too. Desperate, Rachel gets a job as a cook at the Martinson Ranch owned by Gary Martinson and his son Joe. Gary is a widower who still mourns his wife although she's been gone fifteen years. Gary is also a retired cop. He agrees to help Rachel find Mitch's money and unravel the mystery surrounding him. At first Rachel and Gary bicker. She's had her first taste of real freedom and she is afraid to give up her freedom or her heart to a man. Gary is attracted to Rachel, but thinks she has attitude. Ms. Fineman does a wonderful job of showing the budding love between Rachel and Gary. It was refreshing to see the love and sensuality between two mature people. Rachel is forty-five and Gary is fifty. The Mitchell Money kept me reading because of all the turns and twists. I had to find out what happened to the money and what lies Rachel's husband had told her. I was sad when the story ended because I grew to love all the characters, especially the teenager Johnny, forced to live on the streets when his life took a bad turn. Rachel, Gary and Joe take in Johnny, and they forge a family. I hope Ms. Fineman has a sequel or two planned so I can revisit the Martinson Ranch. The Mitchell Money is a heartwarming love story, mystery, family saga. This is a wonderful book, well worth reading.
