Overview

Chris Paciello had it all: money to burn, GQ good looks and seductive charm, a roster of friends that included celebrities and supermodels such as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and Niki Taylor, and the hottest nightclub in the heart of America's hottest nightspot -- Miami's trendy South Beach. But he couldn't outrun his bloody past as a Mafia-connected petty thief from Staten Island -- where he had taken part in a botched robbery that ended with the cold-blooded shooting of a wife and mother left to die in front of her family. Written by New York Daily News crime reporter Michele McPhee, this is the incredible true story of a young thug who rose to the pinnacle of high society only to lose it all, and a shocking foray into both the glitzy world of the rich and famous of South Beach and the brutal underworld of Staten Island mobsters.

First of all let me just say, CHRIS (STOOLPIGEON)LUDWIGZEN, you rat piece of sh*t!! The 12 years you ended up with isn't enough, but hopefully enough for the boys to reach out and touch you. I'm from Bath Avenue in Brooklyn. I grew up with Gonz, Mikey Yammine (ANOTHER RAT PRICK), Tommy and Fabriz. The shame of it is that I also knew Chris. The book, while very touching and seemingly based on facts is also just a one sided view of the events. GONZ is due home next year so maybe the other side will be published. As for Fabriz and Tommy, well thanks to their RAT BASTARD co-defendant CHRIS, they are never coming home. Funny thing is, Chris ended up with 12 years, when the original offer from the US attorney if all three (TOMMY, FABRIZIO and CHRIS) pled guilty they would have taken 7 years. But they all had to agree. Go figure, CHRIS THE HOMO would try to dodge the bullet and sh*t on his friends by becoming a government witness. Hey chris, how's that 12 going for ya? Think ya should of taken the 7 now? Not to mention you'll have to go out and buy yourself a pair of eyes in back of your head if you ever make it back to the streets. MIAMI ISN'T SAFE EITHER SWEETY. ALOT OF THE BOYS FROM BATH AVENUE AND BAY 23RD HAVE MOVED DOWN SOUTH, so you'd better reach out to SAMMY and see what he can do for ya.

Nicely written....too many other stories in the book that did't help the reader learn more about the main character I thought or keep your interest. No cohesion!

Very inticing and to the point. Quite descriptive and Michele definately know what she is talking about. She takes us into a world of crime like never before! A must read. I never put it down.

Enjoyable reading but it seemed a little hastily put together. Nevertheless, a very good book.

It basically displayed his life story as it was.

I never heard the story of this guy Chris Paciello, but this book really follows his life from the time he was growing up under the 'watchful eye' of his father, the nation's wrist-wrestling champ, to how become a car thief and bank robber, to becoming a big star in Miami and now he's ratting out his friends. I like true crime, and this is one of the best books I've ever read.

I have read a lot of mob books over the years, but none like this one. This book is jam-packed with juicy tidbits.
