More About This Book

Overview

There is a revolution in Mobile Devices taking place globally. This consists of SmartPhones and Tablets with the main contenders being Samsung and Toshiba with their Android operating system and Apple with their iOS operating system. It appears in early 2013 that Samsung is winning the Global Competition for the SmartPhones. Toshiba seems to be beating Apple in the Tablet market.
Apple's Stock prices hit a high > than $700/share in late 2012 and then dropped to <$500/share in January 2013. This Apple stock price decline reflects the market's view that Apple and their products are losing the Mobile Device battle - even though Apple sold more smart phones than Samsung in December. 2012.
I ended up acquiring a Samsung SIII Smartphone and the Toshiba Thrive Tablet, both of which use the Android Operating System. I bought these devices from local retailers in my home city, but a simple way to acquire mobile devices is from Amazon's Internet Store which gives prices and delivery costs for Mobile Devices you may wish to buy.
I find I use my mobile devices for obtaining Internet News from Yahoo News and other news services such as ABC or Toshiba news services. Your desired news service or other Internet websites you use regularly can be easily book-marked on your mobile device.
I also use the Mobile Devices as back-up for my Options Trading software by sending my software file as an attachment to my gmail address for each Mobile Device, then opening the Excel files using Quickoffice which allows this Excel file to be viewed and edited. I can also obtain the free CBOE delayed option quotes from the Internet as well as access my Options broker on the Mobile Devices.
I can send copies of my Word or PDF books to the mobile devices as attachments to gmail. I find it easy to read the Internet News on my SmartPhone or tablet in my comfortable reclining chair or in bed, without having to sit at my desk to view the news on my PC.
So Mobile Devices make my living simpler and more convenient than having to use the PC for everything.
This book provides a broad coverage of the devices that the Mobile Revolution is making available to you for your everyday work.
