Are you an experienced or professional digital artist? If you are, then this book is for you! Author David Leibowitz, has done an outstanding job of writing a book that brings together 70 mobile digital artists from around the world. Leibowitz, begins by looking at the 70 digital painters and how they represent the largest group of artists worldwide that pick up the iPhone and iPad for artistic reasons. Next, the author describes why the digital painters’ diversity would be hard to represent, even though he attempts it by presenting over forty traditional painters. Then, the author shows you why in this point in time, he left out many, many talented mobile artists, that would have easily filled another book. He continues by discussing how the photographers were selected for their distinctive iPhone-centric approach to this new art form. Next, the author discusses how collage and photomontage artists use mobile devices to create complex compositions. Then, he explores how some iPhone mash-up artists use multiple apps to create their mobile art. The author continues by showing you how art apps like kaleidoscopic apps, fractal art generators, and abstract art generators, are apps that many mobile artists use in the creative process. Next, he explores apps that are used by many artists to create stand-alone art, but are also used as part of a multi-app approach to making art. Finally, he looks at why for conceptual artists, this is a new arena where the app is the art. This most excellent book also looks at the collaboration of those 70 digital artists, and explains how they create inspiring original art, from concept to creation. More importantly, as you go through this great book, you will find a number of striking illustrations and easy to follow tutorials, that will inspire you create your own stunning art!
