    Steam Locomotives for All

The title does not do the book justice. The introductory chapter explains in great detail the functions of the various components of a steam locomotive, providing an appreciation for the complexity of the machine. The book continues with excellent photographs, scale drawings, and descriptions of over two hundred different steam locomotive classes representing most of the railroads in existence in the 1940's to 1960's. It is an excellent resource for the inquisitive engineer, train buff or model railroader. The only down side is that all of the photographs are black and white but they are of good quality.
