Modern Fighter Planes

Modern Fighter Planes

by George E. Sullivan

Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 5-8-- Sullivan describes in lengthy detail the development, modifications, components, and use of 15 of the world's most notable foreign and domestic fighter planes. The book's format is not inviting; very small print is framed by narrow inner margins and extremely wide outer margins. Each chapter begins with a boxed fact sheet concerning the individual fighter. The half-page , black-and-white photographs are mediocre in quality. The chapters are dense and contain more information than average readers will want. The text concludes with a listing of letters used in the aircraft designation system, abbreviations, and acronyms. With the many, high-quality, colorful titles available on the subject, this one can be skipped. --Eldon Younce, Harper Elementary School, KS
