    Mod Podge - baked, really?

I have worked with Mod Podge for many years and have never seen it baked. The finish, all by itself, is hard and durable, sort of like Polyurethane. I found it hard to understand why the Baked Ombre Stained Glass vases needed to be baked. None of the other projects that used Mod Podge required baking, not even the coasters so it wasn’t a water consideration.

Then I read further and found all sorts of Mod Podge with different names such as Wash Out, Outdoor and Dimensional. I guess I am way behind the times! I have been using good old Mod Podge in this fashion for years. It provides a hard, permanent finish with no baking needed and by layering coats of it, you get the dimensional affect.

The projects in the book are varied in uses such as a vase, magazine holder, photo tile and a bracelet. The instructions are relatively easy to follow. The materials list is clearly written and there are some graphics to help make sure you are on the right path. There were places where more graphics would have been nice like on the Rose Topiary.

All in all, this is not a book I would recommend to anyone who has ever done any type of crafting.
