What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

"A marvellous achievement. It traces a wide constellation of overlapping ideas, theories, arguments and thinkers, producing a comprehensive map of modern ideologies, but with the concerns of political theory at its core. It will serve as a central text for undergraduate courses and a distinctive point of reference for political theorists."
James Martin, Goldsmiths, University of London

"This third edition of Andrew Vincent’s wonderfully erudite and penetrating study should grace the desks not only of students of ideology but of every political theorist. His impressively intelligent feel for ideology, his wise and highly readable examination of its concrete varieties, and his powerful command of the literature gift its readers with an invaluable account of the modern world of political thinking."
Michael Freeden, University of Oxford
