Meet the Author

Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate are the co-authors of EVE AND ADAM. Gennifer Albin is the author of CREWEL, the first in the Crewel World series. Leigh Bardugo is the author of SHADOW AND BONE, the first book in the Grisha Trilogy. Marissa Meyer is the author of CINDER, the first book in the Lunar Chronicles. Gabrielle Zevin is the author of ALL THESE THINGS I'VE DONE, the first book in the Birthright series. Ann Aguirre is the author of ENCLAVE, the first book in the Razorland trilogy. Lish McBride is the author of HOLD ME CLOSER, NECROMANCER.

Katherine Applegate is the author of many books for children and young adults, including the award-winning Home of the Brave. Her husband, Michael Grant, is the author of the BZRK series and the bestselling Gone series. Together they wrote the popular Animorphs series. They live in Northern California with their two children and numerous unmanageable pets.

Gennifer Albin holds a masters degree in English Literature from the University of Missouri. During her student years she served as an editor for Pleaides and The Missouri Review, and since then she's founded the tremendously popular blog theconnectedmom.com.

Leigh Bardugo was born in Jerusalem, raised in Los Angeles, and graduated from Yale University. She is fond of glamour, ghouls, and costuming, and gets to indulge all of these fancies in her other life as a makeup artist. She can occasionally be heard singing with her band, Captain Automatic.

Marissa Meyer is the New York Times bestselling author of Cinder. She was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, home of Almond Roca and Stadium High School, which was made famous when Heath Ledger danced down the stadium steps in "10 Things I Hate About You." Marissa didn't actually go to Stadium High School, but she did attend Pacific Lutheran University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. She still lives in Tacoma, now with her husband.

Gabrielle Zevin is the author of Elsewhere, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, and All These Things I've Done. Of her writing, The New York Times Book Review said, "Zevin's touch is marvelously light even as she considers profundities." She lives in New York City.

Ann Aguirre is a national bestselling author whose first novel for young adults, Enclave, was praised as "for fans of The Hunger Games" by Publishers Weekly. She lives in Mexico with her husband, two children, two cats, and one very lazy dog. Lish McBride grew up in the Pacific Northwest and got her MFA in fiction from the University of New Orleans. Lish lives happily in Seattle with her family, two cats, and one very put-upon Chihuahua.

Ann Aguirre has been a clown, a clerk, a savior of stray kittens, and a voice actress, not necessarily in that order. She grew up in a yellow house across from a cornfield, but she now lives in a terracotta adobe house in Mexico with her husband and two adorable children. The post-apocalyptic novel Enclave is her first book for young adults. She also writes the romantic science fiction series about Sirantha Jax, starting with Grimspace, as well as urban fantasy and paranormal romance. As Ava Gray, she writes paranormal romantic suspense.
Gennifer Albin is the author of Crewel World trilogy Crewel, Altered, and Unraveled. She holds a master’s degree in English literature from the University of Missouri and founded the tremendously popular blog The Connected Mom. She lives in Poulsbo, Washington.
Leigh Bardugo was born in Jerusalem, raised in Los Angeles, and graduated from Yale University. These days, she hides out in Hollywood, where she indulges her fondness for glamour, ghouls, and costuming in her other life as a makeup artist. She can occasionally be heard singing with her band, Captain Automatic. Her first book, SHADOW AND BONE, was a New York Times bestseller.
Michael Grant is the author of BZRK and the bestselling Gone series. He and his wife, Katherine Applegate, are also the authors of the popular Animorphs series. They live in Northern California with their two children.
Katherine Applegate is the author of several best-selling young adult series, including Animorphs and Roscoe Riley Rules. Home of the Brave, her first standalone novel, received the SCBWI 2008 Golden Kite Award for Best Fiction and the Bank Street 2008 Josette Frank Award. She lives with her family in Irvine, California.
Lish McBride grew up in the Pacific Northwest. It rains a lot there, but she likes it anyway. She spent three years away while she got her MFA in fiction from the University of New Orleans, where she managed to survive the hurricane. She enjoys reading, having geek-laden conversations about movies, comics, and zombies with her friends, and of course trying to wear pajamas as much as humanly possible. She lives happily in Mountlake, WA, with her family, two cats, and one very put-upon Chihuahua. Her debut novel, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer was named an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults and was a finalist for the YALSA William C. Morris Award.
Marissa Meyer's first book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder, debuted on the New York Times bestseller list. Marissa lives in Tacoma, Washington, with her husband and their three cats.
Gabrielle Zevin is the author of many popular books for teens, including Elsewhere, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, and In the Age of Love and Chocolate, the final novel in the Birthright trilogy. Her novels for adults are Margarettown, The Hole We’re In, and the forthcoming The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. She was also the screenwriter for Conversations with Other Women, for which she received an Independent Spirit Award nomination. Zevin is a graduate of Harvard University. After many years on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, she recently moved to Silver Lake, Los Angeles.

Great Sampler! The first chapters of seven interesting and engrossing books. Great way to get to know the writing style of each author and know if you want to read the full book. I thoroughly a peek into each of these books and plan on purchasing most of them. In Eve and Adam find out what happens when the daughter of a bio-pharmaceutical CEO gets seriously injured by a trolley car. In Crewel discover a world where gifted people are forced to work for the government - and to re-make the world, including removing people! In Shadow and Bone, visit a world ravaged by war and split apart by a dangerous rift in the land. Discover Cinder - where anyone who has bio implants is not considered fully human - and a deadly plague is feared by all. In All These Things I've Done even caffeine and coffee are contraband and a young girl's ties to a mob family cause trouble. In Enclave humans try scrape by in a post-holocaust world where non-human 'freaks' threaten their existence. Finally, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer is a story of a young guy with no direction in life - who finds out that he has powers he didn't know existed.
