Overview

MOLD: The War Within will enlighten every homeowner, renter, and employee, who is or could become sick from mold or chemical exposures from floods, hurricanes, sick buildings, and the ever present environmental pollution that affects us all. Revealing interviews with prominent experts on mold and chemical related issues bring to life such topics as the: Effects of mold & chemical exposures on human health; Methods of mold testing; Dangers of antifungal; antibiotic, & steroid pharmaceuticals; Legal loopholes of mold cases, Healing through natural means. Authors Kurt and Lee Ann Billings began researching mold and chemical exposures after their family became gravely ill from toxic Katrina exposures. The Billings expose the prevalence of fungal misdiagnoses and medical mistreatments while chronicling their family's frustrating, but ultimately successful, quest for effective treatment of mold and chemical exposures from Hurricane Katrina. They detail their months of research and trials and errors and share their inspirational journey of healing, what worked medically and nutritionally for them what didn't and why.

Best-selling Author of The Fungus Link and Television Host of Know the Cause - Doug Kaufmann
Have you ever left a doctor's office and felt that his diagnosis and treatment recommendations were wrong? You are 458 pages away from understanding with certainty that this exact scenario occurs every minute of every day for millions of patients, but most importantly after reading MOLD: The War Within, you'll know why. Read it all! Upon completion, you will be empowered to better understand why no disease cure exists in America. Doctors simply do not learn in medical school what the Billings ha

I edited Doug Haney's book on mold, Toxic Mold-Toxic Enemy, and wrote the foreword for Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker's book, Mold Warriors, along with Bianca Jagger, but I think the book, MOLD: The War Within, makes a significant contribution in a different way. Everyone who is concerned about their health in homes and offices should read MOLD: The War Within. I thank the authors, Kurt and Lee Ann Billings, for allowing to me to make a contribution.

Subtitled Lessons Learned from Katrina, this book peaked my interest from the onset because we, too, were in the midst of the toxic mold problems that resulted from the most devastating hurricane ever to hit southeastern Louisiana. NORMI, the National Organization of Remediators and Mold Inspectors, www.NORMI.org, was formed in July of 2004 just one year before Hurricane Katrina hit and, because we had been training on mold assessment, remediation, and the health issues related to this biologica

One excellent resource is the book Mold: The War Within by Kurt and Lee Ann Billings. The Billings learned the hard way about the damaging health effects of mold—and the level of ignorance about mold's effects by the medical profession as a whole.
Dr. Short Ray - Mary Short Ray, DO
A Must Read For Anyone Exposed to Toxic Mold I am a licensed medical doctor who specializes in the treatment of environmental illnesses. I chose this area of medicine due to having been ill from environmental exposures myself. I read the book MOLD: The War Within when it first came out as I was still struggling with the symptoms of toxic mold exposure. I still recall many valuable pieces of information that I still refer to today. In the first section of the book, Kurt and Lee Ann Billings prese

While the Billings' have some good information within, they were not exposed to the amounts of mold that others have been. I have a real problem with lay persons acting like they know more than trained doctors, which they appear to on their Facebook page. Beware and do plenty of research before listening to them.
