Overview

Intro: When Molly goes to work at Miss Lorna’s, she cannot wait to meet the gentleman who will ask for her hand in marriage. Miss Lorna’s is where all the young girls of Charleston are sent to learn how to please a man. Molly knows nothing about pleasing a man, but is quite certain that she will be good at it. After all, she did earn excellent grades at her all girls’ school. Excerpt: Molly walked quickly behind the young woman. The young woman certainly didn’t look like a lady to Molly. She wore high heels and black fishnet stockings and from behind, Molly could almost see all the way to her crotch. The young woman’s skirt was bright red and very snug against her butt. Molly’s mother would certainly never approve of Molly dressing like that. “Miss Lorna, this is Molly Stevens. Her mother sent her.” Miss Lorna looked the young woman up and down. “Yes, yes, well, I see we have our work cut out for us, don’t we Lacy,” she said to the young woman. “Yes, Miss Lorna.” Turning to Molly, Miss Lorna said, “Lacy will see to it that you are properly dressed. Then you will return to me.” Molly nodded. ----------------- Molly put the little blouse around her, which barely closed just underneath her breasts. “They still show,” she said. “Well, if you want people to make a purchase, you should put your best goods in your store window, now shouldn’t you?” Molly looked down at her full breasts, not understanding Lacy’s comment. “You will wear these, too,” Lacy commanded, tossing a thin strip of cloth at Molly. “What’s this?” “It’s a thong, Molly. Don’t tell me you’ve never seen one.” Molly had never seen anything like this, but was too ashamed to admit it to Lacy. “Hurry, Molly. You are wasting Miss Lorna’s time.” ------------- Once Lacy was finished with Molly, she hurriedly readied herself. She, too, had come to Miss Lorna’s to meet a gentleman. Miss Lorna rang the bell, and Lacy stood up quickly, grabbed Molly by the arm, and opened the door. There were ladies of various ages emerging from behind the closed doors. They hurried down the stairs to where Miss Lorna was standing. “Now remember, ladies, smile, always smile,” she ordered. Lacy motioned for Molly to stand next to her in the large room where Miss Lorna’s men were waiting. Molly looked around the big room. Some of the men had to be in their forties, she thought. Half of them were old enough to be her father. There weren’t very many that she could see anyway who were even close to her age of eighteen. She looked at Lacy. Lacy was smiling and batting her eyelashes. Molly tried to smile, but it was forced. Very soon, Lacy was on the arm of an older gentleman. He walked her out of the room. Molly tried to see where they went, but the doors to the grand ballroom quickly closed behind them.
